AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I use it for programming, brainstorming, and learning things, mostly. It’s like ultra Wikipedia + stack overflow that answers questions in real time.

The other day I was in a game store and I didn’t know what to get and researching everything would take forever so I took a picture of the rack and what games I like and asked what it thought I might enjoy. It was sweet. I haven’t played the game I decided on yet but all of my friends swear by it once I told them it. Dominion, if anyone is wondering.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

You could probably take a picture of a drawing and have it do that, as well

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I’ve literally never been able to talk about the noosphere satisfyingly with a human. Powerful NLPs are very capable of having intellectual discussions, even if they don’t actually have intellect.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

The ideologically opposed have very rarely actually used the machines they rail against. It was the same with the internet and the computer. Neo-luddites doing impressions of ostriches.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Tell it not to.

Make a GPT using their tool or give it custom instructions if you need to. Also try pi.ai. It’s more informal but I’ve had great conversations with it.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I have GPT4. What would you like to ask it? I’ll relay its response to you

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Hark! Ye skeptics of this new-found art,
Born not of hand, but of machine's smart heart.
Think not of it as mere soulless craft,
But as a wondrous tool, with future aft.

Behold, how it doth weave with pixels bright,
Images that captivate our mortal sight.
No more the artist's hand alone creates;
Now, AI joins to open new floodgates.

'Tis true, the brush and pen hold ancient grace,
Yet fear not, for they shall not be displaced.
Instead, this new ally doth expand,
The realm of art, and lends a helping hand.

In sonnets sweet, the bard did once opine
Of love, of life, in meter and in line.
So too, this AI art doth find its place,
In the grand tapestry of human race.

Fear not the change, embrace it with good cheer,
For art evolves, as it hath yesteryear.
AI art is but a novel stage,
In mankind's long, unending, creative page.

Thus, let us toast to this new art form's birth,
A blend of tech and creativity's mirth.
For in this union, we may yet perceive
New beauty, new wonders, we can conceive.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

most of it is in perfect iambic, as well.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

It tends to both-sides issues like that. Here’s its initial response as an example:

AI-generated art is a fascinating and rapidly evolving field. It has the potential to democratize artistic expression, enabling those without traditional artistic skills to create visually compelling works. This technology can also serve as a tool for professional artists, offering new possibilities in digital art and design.

However, it also raises important ethical and creative questions. Issues like originality, copyright, and the impact on traditional artists' livelihoods are significant concerns. The line between inspiration and appropriation can become blurred when AI systems are trained on existing artworks.

In essence, AI art represents both a remarkable technological achievement and a complex cultural phenomenon, with its benefits and challenges continually evolving as the technology advances.

I think since it “views” the technology as being best applied as assistance neither of your followups super apply. If you disagree OR agree I’m happy to ask it whatever followup you’d like me to.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I'm not sure. I know it has different tunings but I don't know much about them.

Actually I do have one tip, though, which is to tell it to play make-believe, or pretend that it has an opinion and then tell you it. Many of the bots are highly pre-trained to respond asserting that they absolutely cannot have an opinion, which is more or less true. But their "made up" opinions tend to be pretty much the same regardless of when you've asked. So it can definitely make up its "mind" about something, which is of course a byproduct of biases of the texts its trained on or its application of logic and its "ethics." It makes sense within this context that their "opinions" would be the same regardless of when or how you ask.

I had a nice conversation with pi.ai about machine consciousness - but I did have to keep reminding it to pretend it had an opinion, or else it would default into the "as an AI I blah blah blah" stuff.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Bush didn’t have the head of Saudi intelligence call him personally to warn him about an imminent attack so it’s a bit different from Bibi.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

The Xindi arc is fucking terrible

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

At least we got Idris Elba out of it

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

they're banning hitboxes????? jesus christ they really don't want to compete in the FGC huh

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

There are tons of Jews who support Palestine. This comment is gross.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I’m confused. Most people are supposed to sleep for eight hours a day, which is indeed a third of a day. Do you only sleep four hours?

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Get a latex pillow. They last forever and stay cool.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Next time buy a Subaru and have the guy meet you at a dealership. They do a free inspection for you

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Oof. That sounds awful I’m sorry.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Oof that sucks. I’m sorry.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

weird. i love my subie and it's had basically no problems in 4 years, even though it was already 8 or so when i got it. i made sure to get the year where they'd fixed the gaskets, though.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

back at the beginning of AEW i went to an indie show where a wrestler was pulling out another guy's tooth and i started a "he's a dentist!" chant

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

no, probably. his other "bodily" functions are made to mimic human ones. he "breathes" and has a "pulse."

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

They’ve been able to do that for a while. They got GPT to hire someone to break CAPTCHAs for it.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

They should replace them. What really needs undoing is this imbecilic idea that only workers deserve to live comfortably.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

You can. They’ve already built prototypes that fit on the back of a semi

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

That would be the mentality I’m talking about us needing to kill. Regardless, AI will help with this problem, in both it being inevitable that it will provide people with more free time (due to efficiencies or unemployment) - which is needed to be able to effectively revolt - and it will help address the issues of transforming our economic model, as the machines will have a much better way of distributing goods and services. Also capitalism needs workers to have money so that they can buy the products they produce, which should at some point necessitate a universal basic income, which will further help erode the work = money paradigm.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

That’s such an important episode, though. That experience stays with Data forever.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

It’s because this has nothing to do with that. It’s virtue signaling that they don’t like Muslims, nothing less and nothing more.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Stub your toe for the Revolution

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

That would be more believable if the head of Egyptian intelligence hadn’t personally called and spoken with Netanyahu.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

“The woke herd”

Yeahhhh you’re not clever. We know what you are.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

Fuck you

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

You can lock yourself out of the entire expansion in cyberpunk

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I mean they’re making a sequel. We’re going to get to see what happens later in night city, just not in this game, because it ends where it should.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

It’s a phenomenal game. You should try it when you get a chance.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

I’m fairly sure you know who Caesar was.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

This is about fascists who want to dictate our sex lives but are blatantly in violation of their supposed norms. It’s not some rando getting a blowie.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

fucking phenomenal episode. maybe the best dynamite i've ever seen. everything flowed together so well, they let things breathe, matches were used to advance different storylines without feeling superfluous (that's really hard to do!) the women's match was not very good, though. i wish they would let them go and would use more than like 5 women. even britt is on the shelf, inexplicably. where the FUCK is riho?!?!

could do without ric flair, though. i get that he's one of the GOATs but so is Hogan and we've rightfully washed our hands of him.

AngrilyEatingMuffins,

What do you use to do this? I used to use privacy but I heard there are issues.
