I wish I could watch shorts from only my subscribed channels.
This isn’t a bad format inherently, it’s just being abused. I like seeing short Blender clips, or short guitar tutorial on a riff, or stand up bits that sit well within the time frame.
Colleges across the country are grappling with the same problem as academic setbacks from the pandemic follow students to campus. At many universities, engineering and biology majors are struggling to grasp fractions and exponents. More students are being placed into pre-college math, starting a semester or more behind for their...
I used WordPad so much growing up. I fucking HATED Word and the office applications as a kid, WordPad just worked and just did writing, which is what I wanted to do.
Dune is more like his mom manipulated an established religion to place her son as the figurehead to utilize these people for power, and they eventually fight a holy war in his name

Hopefully this kind of content is ok here. Up until recently, when I would be searching for some kind of technical info, the top (and best) results would usually all be Reddit posts. I was very pleasantly surprised to do that this time and find a Lemmy post instead!...
That’s my biggest worry, however I’ve been programming for like 15 years now and there are forums I posted to that no longer exist, so I think its just a symptom of information as a whole.
Reddit was the bastion for this kind if stuff for a long time, and now there are a bunch of posts by this guy named [deleted] that have no post body so make of that what you will
I have just received a Samsung galaxy fold5 through the post, however I imagine it’s full of bloatware and I’m inexperienced with this type of device. What is the first things that you would do to secure it? Thank you 😊...
…if you really have trouble finding stuff on how Brave is terrible for privacy, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you have trouble reading. It’s known by most people that it’s a scam. They sold private user data to machine learning companies, they are predominantly a crypto company who has a browser, they are chromium based, etc
If you don’t add comments, even rudimentary ones, or you don’t use a naming convention that accurately describes the variables or the functions, you’re a bad programmer. It doesn’t matter if you know what it does now, just wait until you need to know what it does in 6 months and you have to stop what you’re doing an decipher it.
I think this is because there is just such a vast amount of information that as humans, each of us individually can only know so much of, and it creates a bit of an imposter syndrome to know how little you know, so many people feel the need to convince themselves that their little section of information is better or more important than other sections of information
It could also be the “well I had to spend years learning how to do what I do and you’re using a tool you learned in 2 days so obviously it’s not that easy and something HAS to be wrong”
I see that particular issue as the same as sending a spaceship to colonize a planet many light year away, but when they get there, there’s been an established civilization for hundreds of years because they developed a better system of travel after the first one left. Same thing, person B got to the game later, but got their goal first, so person A thinks B isn’t a real programmer because they didn’t have to grind and struggle with interior tools and tech.
Every time one of my friends tries to get into programming, they always want to start with Python or they want to jump right into using a game engine. They always fail
I don’t hate python like some people do, but i think it terrible for beginners
The comments that formed the basis of the complaints against Dr. Peterson included comments on a podcast in which he commented on air pollution and child deaths by saying “it’s just poor children…”
This quote is the most disgusting out of context character assassination I’ve seen in a long time.
I got suspicious because while Jordan does say things that women and/or trans people often find deplorable. I know that he’s a strong supporter of the poor (at least in rhetoric) and as a family man I assume of children as well.
The full context can be found on Spotify. Episode #1769 of “The Joe Rogan Experience” start from about 15:30. He’s the one that brings up how 7 million poor children die from indoor particulate pollution. Joe doesn’t believe him and gets a fact check, which eventually leads to Jordan sarcastically saying “Well, it’s just poor children, and the world has too many people on it anyway…”
It’s such an insane mischaracterization of what he said, you can’t take the article seriously. Probably would have to write off the entire website that article is from, honestly.
I feel like Godot’s AnimationTree is significantly more valuable and useful than Unity’s Animator component. You can nest your Statemacchins or blend trees or BlendSpace2Ds. You can attach scripts to individual Statemachine Transitions if you wanted....

These arent corporate monoliths, these are individual moderators who own and operate at their leisure.
Imagine being spammed with these types of images, it must be pretty taxing mentally to have that kind of toxicity hurled at them at what I assume is only going to get worse.
This was my point. Someone is obviously trying to make it as difficult as possible to operate and by shutting down instances and flooding it with child porn, they will be turning away many users, too.
Just tested it against the clock on my phone, with seconds turned on, it opened to my 20000 word canvas with 15 different notes in LESS than a single second.
Unless you’re writing literal novels in a single files, you shouldn’t have an issue.
I recommend Syncthing Fork, btw, it has a few more features.
You can set up a versioning system, there’s like five different options but I don’t know what all the differences are. You can set up your own custom amount of versions and set how long they are kept.
I have mine set to check for file changes, but you have a whole host of options for when it triggers. You can set it to run at intervals or just when changes happen, or when you do it manually. It uses damn near no battery life to keep on in the background for me.
It even has a conflict resolution system that let’s you observe file timestamp conflicts and resolve them manually.
