(I selected Language English when posting this, but there's "Warning: If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content." above that. Did I do a bad thing?)...
I had been feeling a bit drawn in to reddit for the past few months before the divorce. I feel like the slower pace at which content comes out on Lemmy is good for me in that way. I can’t just scroll and scroll and scroll my entire day away....
I'm just wondering if I'm struggling to figure something out as a mod or a regular user where's the best place to ask?
A great use for reddit is the ability to search posts and opinions about any niche topic. Will that be possible with Lemmy as it grows? Will I be able to Google "instant rice Lemmy" and get a comprehensive tier list of each brand?...
I like to cook, and for that I need a place where I can keep all my recipes. I’m currently using the app My Recipe Box. But it’s closed source and full of ads. While the pro version is pretty cheap, I wanted to see if there were any open source apps for this....
Last fall I moved into an apartment with a plum tree in the front yard. I don't know anything about plants or trees or fruit, and now that summer is here there are hundreds of plums dangling off this tree. They're attracting millions of ants, as well as raccoons, possums, rats, and a few bold humans who I've caught plucking from...
right, so as the title suggests......
Sensationalist title yes, but this is something that is partially true....
My disclaimer is that I am excited using the fediverse as alternative from Reddit (I have switched to Mastodon from Twitter)....

Hi everyone,...
I’m looking to get a lemmy bot figured out for posting sports scores in real-time (or near it) like Reddit had for NHL games. The lemmy api reference states that rust has the api as a loadable library, but I’ve only ever done C/C++ and python. Anything Coursera style to get a basic overview of how to get started in Rust?...
Can you add text to speech to Jerboa? So that it will read the OP and all comments, be able to pause and play, forward past comments and lastly read with the screen off....
Got an ice cream at lizzy’s. Looking good. What are your recommendations for ice cream in boston?...
Damn, missed my chance to have it be a date I’d remember for a change.
I'll keep this short and sweet. Some random guy on the internet compiled together and summarized a bunch of climate research papers analyzing global trends and a bunch of different slow actors that are all going to kick in soon like the permafrost in Russia or the polar ice caps etc....
I’ve been using mat2, which is the first recommended option on PrivacyGuides.com, to remove metadata. Is there any drawback to this compared to ExifTool, which is at the bottom of the page? mat2 relies on ExifTool, but only for removing metadata that isn’t a PDF, audio file, image, svg, or video. I usually use mat2 for...
I have some video files, stored locally, that I want to add to RD so that family can stream on Plex. I’ve created a torrent file for the videos and uploaded them along with the torrent file I created to both Google drive and Mega drive. I add the torrent to the magnet link in RD. It looks like it’s working but spins at 0%...
I’m working on a project and need to be able to record with a usb webcam and mic. I haven’t been able to find anything in the play store to suit my needs....
!internetfuneral is a fan made magazine of the original subreddit /r/internet_funeral. The point of this magazine is for posting surreal and obscure art (or images that could be interpreted as art) that has text in them. This does NOT include memes, so don’t post those here. (While there will be some exemptions for this, most...
Hi there, i just stumbled across the whole fediverse thing with lemmy, because of the reddit incident. i heard of mastodon before but that’s about it, but i love the idea of fediverse. i also love FreeCAD even if it can be tricky sometimes. are any of you guys still active here?
An example: www.thenextdroid.com/topics/tutorials/root/. This Ellis Gibson person. Very good with the find/replace button....
A big thank you to everyone that volunteered....
