On the packaging.Hidden in the terms and conditions. Who knew it’d be so foretelling, so prescient? “Some assembly required.” Like a chant. Like a mantra. Like the Rosary. A testament to how you’d spend your time and your days. A lifetime with tiny pieces. Trying to fit them in. Trying to figure out where they go...

I #read When She’s Shy by Ruby Dixon (Sept 2023). This short #book from the Risdaverse is a 52 pg F/F delight. Please don’t let that scare you off if you are a straight cis person. This is the first time I know of that Dixon has openly written lgbt main characters, one of which clearly has an anxiety disorder. Read it! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 #romance #books #romancebooks #romancelandia #reading @romancebooks @romancelandia

This is a stuning piece that resonates with me in ways I can't put into words. Thomas Merton says that “those who cannot be alone cannot find their true being and they are always something less than themselves.” But over time with overuse the kind of withdrawal that makes it possible can become its own kind of lessening.

Borrowed Study for Obedience by Sarah Bernstein from the library. This copy has a big misprint - about 50 pages are randomly repeated in place of 50 that should be there.

At first I thought wow, these books really are getting impenetrable 😂 but fortunately I got my hands on a complete copy

“Le inchieste dell’ispettore Chen” di Qiu Che Xiaolong 🇨🇳

Una raccolta di gialli 🕵️ davvero interessanti. Quello che mi sta colpendo è come il la storia investigativa sia quasi di sfondo a quella che è la Cina negli anni ‘90. Una Cina ancora ferita e vittima dell’indottrinamento comunista.

È una lettura 📚che aiuta a capire uno stile di vita, una cultura, dei modi di fare che sono lontani dai nostri.

Buona luttura

Five stars: The Mysteries by Bill Watterson and John Kascht (Illustrator) (2023) is a graphic novel or picture book for adults. At first glance it's a dark fantasy about an unknown threat. At second glance it's a parable for man's ongoing abuse of the world and the species' collective arrogance at the cost of everything precious.
