It’s Murderbot Day at last. System Collapse, The Murderbot Diaries #7 is out!
In preparation i’ve been re-reading the series. I'm in the middle of #5. Gotta stay away from spoilers. And should have timed this re-read a bit better.
Happy New #Murderbot Day to all who observe. I preordered it on libro so it was waiting for me when I woke up this morning and I got to listen to a bit of it. Excited to finish the rest later today :)
Murderbot!!! Book 7 of the Murderbot Diaries has arrived. I'm so excited. This is one of my all-time favorite scifi series. Stop talking to me so I can consume my media 😆😆 #Murderbot#SciFi#SFF#ScienceFiction#Bookstodon
Finished Nicola Griffith's brilliant #Menewood (sequel to #Hild my favourite book ever) just in time for new #Murderbot. Looking forward to the mental whiplash going from the middle ages to corporate dystopia far future. Yay!
@diazona@bookstodon@markw I’ve only read a few so far and I adore them. I’m trying not to gobble the whole series down at once. So far succeeding but one day I’ll break. #murderbot
I really enjoyed the book. An android with human-like features is nothing new in sci-fi, but I really liked this version. The main character android is very likeable.
Novel is a quick read and plot is quite simple.
Surrounding world is not very widely depicted : there could have been more in-depth information on what kind of future world the story takes place in. On the other hand, when things are briefly explained, the story remains light and nice. I've been a bit tired of overly complicated plot patterns, which in the end stumble over their own feet when the threads are no longer in control.
Very interesting novella. Wells puts us in the mind of a security robot that's slipped its leash. The book takes us through its struggles, and the struggles of those around it, to wrestle with its humanity. I really enjoyed this, and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Finishing up listening to Network Effect - #Murderbot 5 - for the second time, after having read it multiple times over the years as well. It's a high-anxiety listen, gotta tell you, even though I know (VERY well) what happens and how. @bookstodon
