Being able to run video games or other hardware intensive process would either require pricey hardware or they'd be streamed from a cloud service (which comes with a whole other bundle of issues to consider) as that computational power has to come from something physical somewhere. Offloading your OS to the cloud wouldn't affect that. PCs can already be accessed by phone if you have the right set up (dedicated IP hosting and a VPN) As for saving data in case of emergencies, we already have cloud based storage solutions that wouldn't be impacted by cloud based OS.
There is 0 reason to use a cloud based OS other than making sure people are tied to your service for the life of their computer. This feels like a solution to a problem no one has.
You've been hostile ("reactionary fucks") and you've hijacked the broader discussion referenced in the article (Musk's Twitter showing terrible videos including human death, animal cruelty, etc) to make a point about meat consumption generally versus videos on Twitter showing the intentional and purposeful infliction of pain on animals for pleasure.
My meat consumption is down quite a bit. Information on substitutes, good recipes, studies on the intelligence of (for example) squid and such have shifted me into eating less meat. While I'm sure you'd prefer people not eat meat at all, convincing 5 people to cut their meat consumption 50% is better than convincing 0 people to cut their meat consumption 100% , no?

I have the pixel 6 and my SO has the 6a. We have 0 problems so far, i have had mine for nearly 2 years the 6a for about 4 months. I mean yeah pixel 3 and 4 had huge problems at first but imo they have improved a lot as a smartphone company.
I'm not trying to argue, but I'm very convinced that the posts which were supposedly restored, were actually submitted to subreddits that have been private and were never deleted. Looking at the blackout tracker, if you <Ctrl + F> a specfic subreddit name you can see that the timeline fits perfeclty.
For example the "javascript" sub, which is all the posts remaining in the video at ~1:30, was private until June 25th, 0:02 UTC. And OP was manually deleting submissions on June 24th, one day earlier.
Easy question to answer: they aren't profitable and the free money of years of near 0 or 0% interest rates is over. The constant VC dried up and the website is insolvent. They have a massively bloated staff roster. They're going to die if they don't make a major change.
And at the same time, all "traditional" monetization strategies for websites like these just... don't work with the way Reddit works. Making the changes they need to make will kill the site.
They never cooked up a monetization strategy that would work for them. They procrastinated. They felt free money would continue forever and underestimated how reliant their site was on volunteer labor. They got distracted by stupid side projects instead of refining the core product.
Reddit will absolutely survive all this. I expect it to still exist, at the end of the day. But it'll be smaller, and what remains will be a soulless shit hole. And it'll still be borderline insolvent.
Laptops these days do much better with Linux than before. But if you really want ~0% chance of dealing with driver issues, I’d go with System76 laptops. They’re made for Linux, and with Linux pre-installed.
It's because it's a feature 0 people will complain about adding if it all works well. It's a small, minor, completely unnecessary detail.
If it's there, then someone had the time, the energy, and the freedom to add it, just because they wanted to. It's not an item that will make it on the checklist of a minimum viable game.

Every android phone I've had had a one-press 'Emergency' underneath the 0 on the lock screen, is it not the same for others? (although I'd argue that is too easy to hit)
I think that the results are "high" as much as 10 percent because the researcher do not want to downplay how "intelligent" their new technology is. But it's not that intelligent as we and they all know it. There is currently 0 chance any "AI" can cause this kind of event.

Yes, the current state is not that intelligent. But that's also not what the expert's estimate is about.
The estimates and worries concern a potential future, if we keep improving AI, which we do.
This is similar to being in the 1990s and saying climate change is of no concern, because the current CO2 levels are no big deal. Yeah right, but they won't stay at that level, and then they can very well become a threat.
Danke.

Geile Karten!
Strange… It still displays the same zsh error and the preferences are not displayed. I even tried to execute the program using bash magic-tape.sh while in bash
I tried on a machine where only bash is installed, and the search window is blank, yt-dlp gives an error that flashes and I can’t read quickly, no preferences appear, again it flashes some text but I cannot read it. Also, the location for the folder is not relative, it has to be in ~/git/magic-tape otherwise it will give you multiple errors.
