Rather, there are too many indifferent and/or supporters so no doubts that protests will be suppressed.
On the other hand, Russians show off a lot but when time comes to action they behave like pussies. Protests like „Let’s all be friends. War is bad”. What a joke. Look how brutal are French protests.
That’s due to decades of totalitarian terror which conditioned the populace to obey blindly. TBH, having grown up under Communist regime, I still sometimes notice in myself the remnants of deep fear of the state. This is a multi-generational trauma. Fortunately here in Ukraine we also have ancient democratic traditions.
These are Ukrainian numbers, they are useful to give a sense of how things are, but we will never know the truth (Russia could be they seem to be intentionally destroying records to ensure thier people can't find out)
Yeah, and the vast majority are refugees fleeing the war, willingly to Russia (almost like there's a civil war going on??). It's like saying Poland has kidnapped a million Ukrainian children, that's the equivalent drivel here.
Russia intervened in the Ukrainian civil war with the recognition of the two breakaway republics. But my point with the civil war comment was that Ukraine has millions of people who are siding with Russia and will escape the war by going to Russia (and bringing their kids with them).
The report [by tbe OSCE] noted that forcibly deported children were placed in an unfamiliar environment far removed from Ukrainian language, culture, customs, and religion. It also found that many such children were exposed to military training and “to pro-Russian information campaigns often amounting to targeted reeducation.”
The report also underscores how changes in Russian law enabled authorities to swiftly give Russian citizenship to Ukrainian children, facilitating their guardianship and adoption by Russian families in Russia, even though many of the children may have living relatives, including in Ukraine.
The report [by Yale Universty researchers] describes a system of holding [children] facilities that stretch from the Black Sea coast to Siberia. […]
Ukrainian officials say Russia has evacuated thousands of Ukrainian children without parental consent […]
The Ukrainian children transported to Russia range in age from teens to toddlers […]
“In some cases there is adoption, other cases summer camp programs where the kids were slated to return home and never did,” he says, “and in some cases they are re-education camps.”
The death toll in Kryvyi Rih has risen to four people. One of them was a 10-year-old child. A total of 31 people, including four children, are currently reported to have suffered traumatic injuries.
@0x815 I always when I see news like this I sit and think whether in a similar situation it would be worth risking my life, my integrity, my career etc. just to make a statement against the government.
It’s hard to tell, but I guess that at some point you’ll need to stand up. What makes this lady’s decision even tougher is that she has five children. We must not forget that.
Possibly a SMART ammo hit on the radar unit? Those with the 2 sub-ammunitions on a small parachute.
At 12 sec it seems there is a shaped charge exploding down from above and then it looks like a 2nd charge doing the same. When the drone is zooming in, in these spots in the sky, we see two clouds floating above the radar.
Whose cluster bomb is this? Russia has been using them this whole time. It’s my understanding the Ukrainians are more interested in taking the cluster bombs apart and using each bomblet as a done bomb. Using cluster bombs offensively means you have to advance through the unexploded ordinance you just dropped, since the dud rate is anywhere from 3-40% depending on who made the bomb.
And this is just a tiny, miniscule, taste of what the majority of Ukraine has had to face for the last year. Also potentially a false flag, we know how PootPoot likes to bomb his own citizens to secure his power.
I’m thinking it could even be “partizans”. It could be anybody really.
As Carl Sagan once said “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” (ECREE).
So truth is, at the end of the day we do not who 100% committed this.
But I’m honestly happy Moscovians, the “privilleged”, get a taste of their own medicine and propaganda in their mouth. I’m not happy that people getting killed, I’m happy that people who support war, finally taste their own medicine.
War is ugly, war is hell, and if you start it, and you agree with it, better get a taste of it.
I dont care this prorogative Moscovians and Russians have that “we’re scared of your government jailing us”, it’s better than thousands of Ukrainians losing their land, getting raped, committing crimes against them and against the world, killing innocent Ukrainians and innocent citizens, babies and children. Your government is literally just a couple of people. 100 of them? 1000 of them? You’re millions. Get a brain.
If you dont have the courage to protest against your own country committing attrocities with your own men, then you better get a taste of your own medicine and I dont give a single fuck about it. I’m honestly happy they finally get to taste just a tiny tiny bit war’s flavor.
edit:
And if it’s partizans, good for them. They understand the way.
Maybe she could have also gone like this every time Kyiv and/or Odessa and/or any and all Ukrainian cities have been relentlessly attacked for the past 500+ days. But just as I'm not expecting water to be squeezed out of a rock, neither am I expecting reason and empathy coming out of these lazy, cruel, mindless savages.
