LaFinlandia, in Poland Seeking EU Ban On Frozen Berries Imports From Ukraine - Agriculture Minister

This is a really frustrating story:

Earlier in July, Polish farmers called for a ban on frozen raspberries import from Ukraine, saying that their influx could destabilize the market prices in the country.

This already after:

On May 2, the European Commission banned the sale of Ukrainian wheat, maize, rapeseed, and sunflower seed in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia until June 5 in a bid to “alleviate logistical bottlenecks,” but allowed their circulation in other European markets. The ban was later extended until September 15.

Disclaimer: I’m not an economist, so I don’t know how much this affects export prices.

Gypsyhermit123, in Ukraine Is Winning The Artillery War—By Destroying Four Russian Howitzers for Every Howitzer It Loses

Seems off. How were these destroyed items identified. I can see the Ukraine allowing outside observers in but I just don’t see Russia allowing them in. Russia is too secretive and sketchy to be transparent.

Ulara,

AFAIK, they were identified by photo and video evidence by OSINT analysts.

Holy shit!

Watching western artillery systems’ accuracy is still amazing, even after countless videos like this one.

How sad. It’s 2023 and we got used to watching snuff videos. Anyone remember “Strange Days”?

FaceDeer, in Ukranian forces crossed the Dnipro!

Over the past few days there have been a number of outcomes that have been basically the last expected thing. Prigozhin starts a coup, marches nearly unopposed to Moscow, then just... stops. The Russians blew the Kakhovka dam so the Dnipro would become even more impassible and they could withdraw their defences to redeploy elsewhere, and so the Ukrainians have crossed the Dnipro.

What's next? Even https://lemmy.world/c/noncredibledefense (or https://sh.itjust.works/c/noncredibledefense) haven't been able to keep up.

Ukraine's goal is to liberate Ukraine, what the Russians choose to do to each other within Russia is of understandably lesser concern right now.
