For anyone who did not think about it beforehand and struggled as me. You can run KDE Connect on your machine and send keyboard and mouse inputs using kde connect. Almost 0 input lag. So you can do all you need....

My Steam Deck arrived and I even got a setup for it. My problem rn is that my keyboard has an american layout but I need to type german umlaute sometimes…how do I do that?

My steps, if anyone has to replicate. I’m not sure if everyone will start from here… it’s possible that you already have the prerequisite installed from another game. But I’ll give my fix path in case anyone starts from the same place I did....

my Steam Deck’s arriving soon and I’m kinda afraid about the SSD upgrade and the steps I have to do. Especially after hearing that some sticks/touchpads (I can’t remember what) don’t work immediately after booting into Steam OS with the new SSD.

Any time I put the device to sleep, the top bar disappears on resume and I cannot get back to or launch any game. They do launch, but the menu window keeps focus and prevents me from accessing them....
