Star Trek Resurgence Giveaway

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing fine and are well prepared for the winter holidays!

We at Dramatic Labs want to sweeten the festive season a little and are therefore giving away a total of 10 copies of Star Trek Resurgence on a platform of your choice (PS4, PS5, Xbox or PC).

Star Trek: Resurgence is a narrative-driven adventure game created by former members of Telltale Games that delivers all the excitement and wonder of the Star Trek universe. Join the crew of the U.S.S. Resolute as first officer Jara Rydek and enlisted engineer Carter Diaz on a mission to prevent an eons-old and powerful force from engulfing everything in its wake!

To take part, you have to comment on which Star Trek games you grew up with and which one was your favourite. The 10 winners will be randomly selected and contacted by me. The giveaway will run until 21st December 23:59 CET.

Have fun and I look forward to your comments! 🖖

cybervseas,

I pleaded and got Star Trek: A Final Unity for my birthday one year. Even on my ancient Mac it was amazing. Like playing an episode of TNG.

stargazingpenguin,

First of all, thanks for the giveaway!

My first Star Trek game was actually Star Trek Online, but I’ll probably always have a soft spot for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Crossroads of Time for the SNES.

I’m definitely happy to see Resurgence coming to Steam though, I don’t buy from anyone except for them and GOG.

sakathus,

Oh man! I used to play the Star Trek: The Next Generation Echoes From the Past game on Sega Genesis. I was really young but loved flying the Enterprise around and pissing off the Romulans.

I played around with the Star Trek: Encyclopedia on PC which was fun and then much later on I play Star Trek Online now and again. It scratches that Star Trek itch to fly ships around and customize them. Great game but I’ll never forget the times with that Sega game.

steakmeout,

By far my favourite ST game is 25th Anniversary from Interplay released in 1992. I grew up in the 70s so TOS was very near and dear to me. In 92 I was reviewing games right at the peak of CD ROM and MS DOS gaming and 25th Anniversary really typified the best of both by including beautiful VGA graphics and a fantastic soundtrack complete with actual sounds from the series and the entire cast in their signature roles. Playing it was like being in the show, nothing else has quite replicated that feeling because it was like the cast was putting on a performance just for me.

dhhyfddehhfyy4673,

Only Star Trek game I've played was Star Trek Online for a bit. It was already out for quite a long time at that point though and couldn't really get into it. Resurgence looks promising though!

Growing up, I played mostly Armada 1/2 with a lot of Elite Force 1 and Bridge Commander (oh the mods!) thrown in.

I spent every afternoon after school and every weekend evening playing Armada. I still think it is my favorite RTS game, even beating Warcraft 3.

There wasn’t a lot of Trek games in my childhood. I mean, they existed I just didn’t have any. I remember playing something on DOS my dad had in his floppy collection but I don’t know what the actual title is. Could probably identify it by a screenshot because it was like a screen with space/an enemy ship and then a bunch of menus to do everything like an old school CRPG.

Even now I kinda wish there was a Star Trek immersive sim/open world RPG besides the MMO, STO. Like Mass Effect or Starfield but Star Trek, and not boring.

pastatheturtle,

Does modded stellaris count?

Ghyste,

I honestly haven’t played any Star Trek games. None really piqued my interest. This game, however, is one I’d like to check out. First time for everything!

Anyone else first play Star Trek (1971)?

RogueGallifreyan,

Oh, yes, one of my first DOS games, played it lots, but I don’t think I ever cleared the board. Always ended up running into three or four Klingon ships and getting blown up.

I don’t think I ever got very far, I can’t believe it basically predates the personal computer?

nightwatch_admin,

It does! The game is from ‘71; PCs really took off in the early 90s, but they started in ‘81: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PC_compatible

Even Enterprise was over by the time I was old enough to understand Star Trek, which meant I wasn’t really exposed to any Star Trek games until I was older, but I did play Star Trek Online! So Star Trek Online is my favorite! Lol

n01getsout,

The first Star Trek game I played was a shareware version of EGA Trek for DOS, which was also one of the first computer games I ever played.

I remember it would tell you a starbase was under attack and you would have to go there to defend it. One of my torpedoes missed and hit a star which made it go supernova, destroying the enemy ship. Fun times.

@n01getsout @Yannik wow I remember that game but my all time favorite would be Star Trek Birth Of The Federation

HobbesHK,

The Star Trek games I played growing up were 25th Anniversary (the ship battles were too complicated for 11yo me), later on I used my own pocket money and bought Final Unity. The Chodak are still a very cool alien race added to the universe. Loved those frog faces in space suits. :-)

Played and finished Elite Force and Armada. Earl Boehn (RIP) as a main villain was a moment of teenage glee being such a massive T2 and TNG nerd.

Interested in Resurgence, my husband recently played it on his PS5 but I don’t go near that machine. 😂

Hello_there,

My favorite Star Trek game is the sims. Make sure you have a few people with the name redshirt. Make sure those people have low stats in cooking and make them do all the cleaning. See how long they last. Then have other people as the officers. They just play all the time and enjoy themselves.

PlasmaDistortion,

I have only played Star Trek: Bridge Crew before, and I loved it and want to play more Star Trek games! Over the genre is great and the potential is endless.
