Hey. I thought I’d give this a shot, just a general chat thread about running… eg. How was your run today, how are you tracking, how’s your training going for that race that you decided to go for etc… if it’s popular, maybe someone knows how to write a bot to post weekly or monthly? (I don’t)
I saw various articles saying you should get new shoes every 300-500ish miles, but I’m skeptical if they just want you to spend more money by saying that. Do you follow this advice, or do you put more miles on your shoes than this? Do you think 1000 miles on a pair of shoes would be too much?...
I think I need to recover more. I’ve been making a lot of endurance progress over the last 12 weeks, but my body is telling me I need a break. Waking up during sleep a lot, resting heart rate during sleep is higher than normal, my HRV has dropped significantly, and my Garmin Training Status is strained....
I’m a sweaty boy looking at getting back into running. I’ve been using Jaybird Tarah Pros for the last 5ish years but they’re not charging reliably and I’ve been having other issues with them, so I think it’s time to look for replacements....
Lifelong athlete. 37yr old male. College baseball player. Have been lifting weights for 15 years. Very consistent with my diet, in fact I have my diet dialed in and track calories eat nothing but whole foods....
I have a pair of Bose Sound sport that I have been using for a few years, and while the audio quality is fine there is an absolute insane amount of wind-noise when using them outside. If there’s anything more that a light breeze, I have to crank the volume to hear my podcasts or music…and forget about using them on the bike!...
It doesn’t have to be the most practical or common distance. Just whichever one you enjoy the most in the moment. For example I currently run 5 km a lot at the moment due to lower levels of strength in my calves and the practicality of it (5 km doesn’t take much time out of the day), but I definitely enjoy 10 - 12 km runs a...
I’ve been doing the Couch to 5K program for a while now, and I’m currently at the last week of it. I can now run for 30 minutes straight, but way less than 5K in that time. The issue is that if I were to run 5K, I would only be able to run it a lot slower than 40, let alone 30 minutes, at my current pace… which, according...
I started running every day on August 16th 2016. I had just gotten a new watch but had already run the day before, so normally I’d take days off. Wanting to test my new toy I ran a successive day and just never stopped. Coming up on 7 years now, 2515 days....
