Mastodon is useless (to me.)
Since I’ve been on Lemmy, I don’t know what my use is for Mastodon anymore. It’s dead on there anyway. I don’t have anyone to talk to and nobody responds to my posts.
This magazine is from a federated server and may be incomplete. Browse more on the original instance.

**EDIT (2023-07-31T22:18:52Z):**I have realized that I was not clear in my original intent for this post – it could be interepereted to mean that I am asking whether or not you could access, for example, Lemmy through the Tor browser. This is not what I meant. What I was more alluding to was if it were possible to create a...
It seems that self hosting, for oneself, a federated service, like Lemmy, would only serve to increase the traffic in the network, and not actually serve the purpose of load balancing between servers....
When is Jerboa getting push notifications?
misskey is another federated social media. Has anyone tried it? Thanks github.com/misskey-dev/misskey
Imagine federation as a spectrum where on one end everyone has his own instance (server) and on the other end one centralized server....

Title
I’ve tried liftoff, jerboa, connect and thunder. None of them seemed to have any mod tools available. Is it just not possible to access the modqueue or remove posts on mobile?
I wonder if the admins are using a k8s setup with CF? This way they have the CF protection and can spin up or down as needed when they get many requests. Thoughts anyone?
I downloaded fedilab from fdroid and it looks on the surface as though it can access instances of the fediverse as well as lots of other stuff - like I can see lemmy.world and lemmy.ml but not lemmy.ee but I’m not sure how to see individual communities - unless there’s a post I can see to follow....
I get the idea of instances, like you can make your own and this is good for privacy. But some lemmy instances are much more popular and this in fact makes it another Reddit. If there are separate instances for niche topics, why not make it another community inside a larger instance?
I notice often people might cross post something and say (for instance) cross posted from lemmy.ca/post/1916492 (random example which is the link that I just followed)...
I looked on search-lemmy.com and couldn’t find this answer, so I figure I’ll ask here....
I just reached 112 myself....
Lemmy world was growing at a decent pace leading up to July 1st, then had a big influx following the API deadline. However the last week in particular has seen a decline....
I want to respond to writing prompts, but from a separate account. That way, if someone enjoys a story, they can scroll through my (alt account’s) history for more writing without needing to dig through all of the dramatic, vitriolic, shit-stirring my main account will be regularly diving into....
Title, basically. Back on Reddit, there was a way to add a user as a friend. It made it easer to identify people (Apollo would highlight friends differently), as well as to see what they’re up to across all communities. There was even a feed for all posts by all friends, which was really useful.
For hours today, yesterday, and intermittently since I’ve been on here (a month or so) lemmy stops loading using jerboa, liftoff, and a web browser....
Is there any way to download Fedilab for free outside of the F-Droid repository? I know they have the code on Codeberg but I could not find an APK file on there

So fediDB does show the combined numbers for lemmy/kbin....
