I do a lot of Roleplaying and need some games for in-between and “gambling” for the others I play with. I don’t want my players to learn a long and massive game. Something that feels a bit medieval and uses dice of 55/32 card decks would be perfect. Like Gwent or Zombie dice. Maybe where you can cheat?
I swear I’m smart and have pretty ok reading comprehension…but when I pick up a new game I have the hardest time understanding the rules and mechanics by just reading the instructions. Watching videos is helpful but I still really only pick it up while playing the game and going through the motions....
I used to love playing Pandemic, but now that we actually lived through one, none of my friends want to play it anymore, myself included. I’m really looking forward to Daybreak to hopefully reattain the vibes of the original while still being fresh....
I always see pictures of people’s collections with boxes stored vertically on their edge. Looks nice, but when I do this the pieces inside tend to get jumbled around....
I’m tinkering with a framework to implement board games in c# (similar to boardgame.io in JS) part of that is getting a handle on turn structures. (What is a round? what is a turn? who gets to go when? etc)...
This has probably been asked before, but I was hoping to hear what method people have had the most success with. My wife won’t let me get any more games unless I make room on the bookshelf lol.
So, have you all made a list of designers and stalls you wanna check out ? Any games that stood out to you ? Anyone volunteering or considering it ? Tips and tricks to share ?
