Zathras, in Any tips for hotbar management?

I like to separate my bars into Action vs Bonus Action as well as separate spells based on their spell level so I can keep better track of what I have, what is left, what actions are available.

I also collect pouches and backpacks to place objects in. My first pouch is healing and helpful potions. My second pouch is throwables, dipping materials, and arrows (anything to harm someone in combat). My third pouch is for scrolls on the characters that carry/use scrolls. I also put my shovel and anything else I want to have on me but want to accidentally sell it within a pouch. I then place the pouches on my hotbar on the far right instead of the individual objects (except for shovel). So during combat I know if I need to take a potion, it’s in the top bag, harmful items in the middle bag and scrolls in the bottom bag.

I have my bars extended to 3 vertical slots.

Re: skills and spells not falling off, I unfortunately do not have a solution.

hotdaniel, in Um... has anyone successfully made an Oathbreaker Paladin with the Dark Urge character? Maybe spoilers?

Nope. Level 4 oathbreaker. I broke my oath, restored it, broke it again. It’s all good. You should add more detail by you seemingly pretty much fucked up the game. I don’t know what that means.

pyrflie, in Why do the guards support the Tiefling child thieves ring? (Spoilers)

This stuff is all coded as Faction based and the Tiefling Children Thieves belong to the Tiefling Refugee Faction. Your character is outside of that faction and is breaking and entering as far as the Hellwalker guards are concerned.

It’s a little more complex than that in truth but if you view all guards in a similar light their actions make sense.

platysalty, in I play with god mode on and i am not ashamed

You do you, man. Meanwhile my headcanon is that the tadpole gives me time powers while I save scum.

Millie, in Baldur's Gate 3 minmaxer finds terrifying 240 damage-per-turn Monk build, carrying on D&D's long tradition of rules-based ultraviolence

I’ve been running a githyanki monk wizard and I love it. I can use medium armor and swords. I’m playing it as like a secret Zerth convert. It’s a better gish then eldritch knight or arcane trickster.

jackfrost, in Baldur's Gate 3 minmaxer finds terrifying 240 damage-per-turn Monk build, carrying on D&D's long tradition of rules-based ultraviolence

Monks in D&D are no joke. I’ve gotten torn up by them before. That class has actually been around since the very beginning. I think I might replay as one.

pyrflie, in Can I make Astarion steal things for little consequence?

There is no hard coded consequence. “Attitude” is single character.

That said if he is in your party there is a chance he will be caught for some Dialogs and this will count against him by region.

There are more than a few checks that if he is the last damage dealer in an encounter he will initiate dialog. Regardless of if he is the MC.

goforliftoff, in In 15 hours I barged into a barn where two monsters were having sex, accidentally became worshiped by fish people and lost my eye to an amateur surgeon.

Possible Act 1 Spoilers re: Goblin CampI managed to get into the Goblin Camp temple without killing anyone outside the big front doors. Once inside, I ended up killing everyone. When I tried to walk back out the front door, everyone went hostile. I ran back in and they didn’t follow, which was odd, but okay. I didn’t think I’d be able to beat the mass horde outside in a giant melee battle, so instead I blessed, bard songed, and sanctuaried Asterion and gave him the misty step necklace. He walked outside by himself and was beset by everyone, but he managed to dash, misty step, and hide his way to safety. From there, he poked around the edges, picking off single foes with his long bow and causing some chaos before sneaking back into the shadows. On my third probe, though, I got careless, and it looked like he might get overrun. Then the other three emerged into a now empty courtyard with the goblins all looking away. Wiped out the rest of the goblins and cleared the whole camp. Ultimately, my favorite part of this whole thing is imagining my PC bard telling Asterion inside the temple, “So, I know you’re not going to like this, but I’ve got a plan to get us out of here…”

Aurenkin, in My hopes for DLC

I kinda hope they go the old school route with something like Throne of Bhaal for BG2 with an additional act and more high level abilities. Bit early yet though, given the success I’m sure we have great things to look forward to no matter what Larian decides to do next.

Well, I’ve got fish people to look forward to still it seems!

Cavemanfreak, in Well, that sadly didn’t take long.

It seems to be gone now at least!

Shalakushka, in Baldur's Gate 3 is PC Gamer's highest scoring game in 16 years. Here's why
@Shalakushka@kbin.social avatar

It's so refreshing to see an RPG that isn't afraid to be an RPG. It's not trying to twist and contort D&D into Call of Duty, it knows what it is and is proud of that. Games don't have to be dead simple and text free to be successful. Games don't have to have big in game stores or battle passes to be successful. They just have to be complete, an earnest attempt at a creative vision. I would take a game that tries something ambitious and very occasionally stumbles like this one over the most competent trend chaser any day.

GreenMario, in Is there a reason the entire environment isn't paused during combat?

It’s for co-op, same as Divinity.

Your friend could be in turn based combat while your somewhere else on the map doing stuff.

The alternative is having tethers which everyone hates. Or real time combat which Larian didn’t want.

Hillock, in Question about FOMO in Baldur's Gate 3

You can't always come back. I would say most things give you 2-3 chances and the order doesn't matter but certain decisions are a one time chance only and if you miss it, it's gone. And if you miss those 2-3 chances, things are also gone for good.

For weapons the best example is during the "Prologue". While you are still on the Nautiloid there is a strong enemy with a burning sword. If you play as "intended" and ignore the enemy, you won't get it. And there is no option of getting it later (to my knowledge).

Then there are a lot of other decision where you aren't sure of any long-term consequences. During the first 3-4 hours this bothered me and I did a lot of reloading trying to find the "optimal" way. But by now I embrace it. I finally have a solid idea behind how my character would act and just go with decisions inline with that. And I will have multiple play throughs of the game almost certainly.

Kolanaki, in If Baldur’s Gate 3’s Lae'zel Were Male Fans ‘Would Be More Forgiving’, Dragon Age Co-Creator Says
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

Forgiving of what? Her dommy mommy sex scenes?

Her adversarial nature? My dudes, she is actually quite tame for a gith and if you play deeper into her story line, you’ll discover that and also get her to stop being a bitch to everyone she’s first meeting. Can’t blame her for being an asshole when she takes orders and worships an evil lich (whom she doesn’t even know is an evil lich) that raised her and others of her kind to be unquestioning killing machines.
