I had a similar issue on watchOS 9 and apple after many attempts would not help me revert the update which seems to have caused the issue. I ended up having to pay for Apple care and get a replacement watch, which I refuse to let update. Pretty annoying. I definitely won’t be allowing my current one to update to version 10 now. It’s sad that the bar is this low, but at least Apple doesn’t force you to update in this case (at least so far)
Are there multiple addresses in the TO field? I don’t see how you would be getting email sent to someone else’s account.
My best guess is that they are sending the emails to hundreds of addresses, and yours happens to be one of them, but you are seeing the addresses of other people who also got it.
Yep, if you’re not on the recipient lists, then this right here is the correct answer.
OP you can confirm this by checking the source or original message and check for the “delivered to” info in the mail headers to see which email of yours that it was delivered to. From there you can decide if it is something you can stop (I.e another privacy relay email), or, the more likely case, just not worth the hassle (I.e the real regular email).
If you are responding to spam mails in an attempt to stop them, you are informing the sender that someone is looking at the mails. The best option is to block the sender if the mails are repeated and stick the mail in your spam folder. There is no point in blocking mails that will only arrive one time. Adding mails to the spam folder informs your ISP that it is spam. Some ISPs are proactive with spam accounts and block them at the server.
An email message can include a tracking pixel that informs the sender the message was read. Just opening a message is usually enough to trigger it, unless your mail client blocks loading external content bu default.
It seems to me like it only reports location when the case is opened, resulting in issues like this. I had a similar thing happen where Find My said they were at work, but in fact they were at home. Just hadn’t opened the case in several hours.
I am having similar issues with my AirTags. Each of my dogs have one in their harness. At 5pm 5 days a week my wife comes to my shop and takes one of the dogs home. No notice that she is no longer with me. Half way home I get a notice I left the dog that went home 3 hours earlier is no longer with me.
I had a similar issue when that dog was separated from us during our morning hike. It kept saying she was near at the place she last was seen by my phone, even when we located her at my truck 4 miles from where she was last seen it showed that she was still on the hike and not with me.
Good. This has been badly needed for a while now. They’ve been pumping out OS versions and feature updates too quickly and not stopping to address problems. Some MacOS releases have been in outright dire shape on launch.
According to the article, this pause is only some weeks, and will not delay the release of new versions. So unfortunately I think your hopes are in vain. Even if I agree with you.
I could be wrong, but that’s not been my impression at all. The last few releases of all their operating systems have been pretty light on whiz-bang features, but fairly stable. I haven’t noticed any problems, much less anything “dire”. I hate their new settings app on Mac, but that’s more of a design decision, not a bug.
I wish they’d go back to their brief pattern of alternating feature releases with stability & performance releases. Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion were rock solid releases.
MacOS 14 didn’t really add any new features. There are widgets on the desktop and… that’s about it. You don’t have to use widgets if you’re worried they might be buggy.
Safari and some other system apps added some stuff, but those aren’t really part of the operating system.
Apple is the most profitable tech company in the world, they should be able to get more talent to allocate to work on both stability and new features, is not like they’re a small startup short on money.
It would certainly be a big deal to have drastically more capacity on a battery or having one that keeps its capacity for longer or is more power efficient.
From device longevity to environment, I can imagine that better battery technology could have a huge impact. I sincerely hope that every company that can is researching it and making progress.
But I get your point that nothing has come of it yet.
There’s a whole bunch of stuff, not just on the watch and not just updates, that only happen if there’s a wifi connection while your devices are charging overnight.
