Libreddit (and sometimes teddit) are essential to me now to watch reddit content without getting into reddit. But I wonder if they will keep working, mostly since Stealth on android won’t keep working after.
I have grown up around Linux and have had people like my dad use it near me my whole life. I even booted a fedora version once on a very old machine when I was younger as a way for my dad to teach me about Linux. Sadly I never really caught on at the time....
I have been wanting to use peertube but I have not really found an instance that is right for my content. On my youtube channel I do blender tutorial, pony animations, and recently some furry stuff.
Title kinda says it all. When trying to browse New, cause I like to see new posts and new discussions cropping up, every 5-10 posts it seems to be a post from the Lemmy.online rss feed bot gathering posts from reddit and posting them here. And their is like one new post from a human inbetween. (・`ω´・)...
These are all products that I legitimately like and want to engage with, but linking them all to a single account and more importantly a shared recommendation engine feels very flawed....
So I have a NUC with Proxmox as the primary OS and OPNsense in a VM for my home network. I've been trying to move away from Google services but would still like to use them as a back up solution. Would it make sense to use Nextcloud in a VM as a replacement and use Rclone to encrypt and backup my files to Google Drive? Or should...
I think Reddit won't exist in 3 years....

Deluge has this nice plugin called scheduler that let’s you program at which time the torrents should download/seed, if you have a small homeserver on something such as a raspberry pi you can just schedule deluge to work when you’re asleep, this way you can seed/download while not impacting your bandwidth when you need it,...
I've installed Fedora 38 with an encrypted system partition since I'll be traveling with my device. OS is running fine but now I'd like to have a more human readable label in dolphin for that partition. All renaming attempts in the terminal with "e2label" and "btrfs filesystem label" failed. The KDE partition manager didn't help...

Hey all, I recently left reddit like many of you. I have a question regarding lemmy and the fediverse on the history of banning and defederation. I have noticed several posts calling for varying communities to be disconnected. were these removal requests as prevalent before the mass migration? Usually I am all for communities...
I occasionally pop back on to see if there’s any news about some of my favorite subs migrating to the fediverse that haven’t yet, and I’ve noticed that nearly all of my home page has massive posts in the vein of “comment your favorite ___ and then tomorrow we do our favorite ___!” Or like the “eliminate one ___ every...

So I’m curious about trying kbin. On Lemmy instances, each instance has its rules listed on the sidebar, below the community rules. I couldn’t find anything like that on kbin.social!...

For example, when I'm logged in, subscriber counts and user interaction counts appear far, far lower on different communities than they do when I'm logged out....
We’ve been gaming together since a long time. Most of us have recently become parents, so gaming together became a bit more difficult....
Running proxmox 8.0.3, spinning up new VM, noticed my netboot was SSLLOOWW. ran speedtest-cli in the host shell, was getting 4Mbits/s, ran on a VM on that same system, was getting 500-600 Mbits/s. I have NO clue what to make of this. Is this a bridge issue in proxmox? I don't think it's a DNS issue, everything else is working,...
