This may be their first internal development but they are a fantastic game publisher already! They take a lot of chances publishing weirder stuff and it pays off a lot of the time. My favorites are:

I kind of look at them as the A24 of games (nevermind that Annapurna Pictures is a thing) where they have excellent taste in choosing what odd features to publish and give a chance despite not creating them themselves. It at least suggests they care about the artistry of the product to a point where I'm expecting that same standard in their first hands-on development.
I am interested. Annapurna has published some of the most amazing games in the last 5 years and I'd love to see how they handle this themselves. Anything they put their name on is known for its narrative quality and I expect this will be much the same level of that.
I kinda assumed as much, it took a long time for 2 to come out. I really liked 2, it was a great follow up to the original. Would love to see a third one as long as they have good, new ideas for it.
After watching their documentary about the development of Psychonauts 2, PsychOdyssey, I can understand why they want to wait a while for the next big project.
3 years into this console generation and this is already happening. Either Microsoft changes its policy or XBox will miss out on more demanding titles.
