I once accidentally thought a girl in my class put her hand up for a high-five but was very confused when I put my hand up to give her one. I died on the inside. It was death by cringe I tell you.
Holy freakin moley that sounds exhausting. Is there a word for slander when it actually works to convince people of untrue things about you? Almost like gaslighting but for everyone else instead of yourself.
I can't even imagine the absurdity of being caught in a one-sided arch nemesis situation where someone has dedicated their life to destroying mine with zero interest from me except for watching The Monarch and Dr. Venture on The Venture Bros.
I'm glad you're free from such insanity and I really hope the damage he caused isn't enough to stop you from having an enjoyable life.
Last time was way more detailed. It was sprawling with mass participation from so many communities that the more you zoomed in and looked, the more cool, creative and diverse stuff you'd find.
This time looks like a completely bare bones shell of the handful of communities that even thought it was worth spending time on. It's not even close to the same glorious effort that it was before.
In my opinion, Abby from TLOU 2. During the first part of the game, she is portrayed as the bad girl, but when she become the playable character, you understand that she isn't:...
He decided to give that person a horse with a loan
I know it's a typo but that sounds like an awesome start to a western video game, regardless of how it's interpreted -- either getting a horse and a loan for supplies, a horse that needs to be paid for later, or a horse that took out a loan by some kind of paperwork error and now has more money than you. I'd play any of those.
And also I'm with you, I think the funny jokes about Tom Nook took off into a smear campaign. Having no time limit, interest free, and also being in a world where money is everywhere and literally grows on trees makes it an amazing deal.
There was a remix of Gato's Song from Chrono Trigger where they performed it in several different styles and added in a crowd booing after every performance that strangely stuck with me after all these years.
The Euclid telescope, just launched today, will be able to observe galaxies out to 10 billion light-years. Here's the largest map I could find (1 billion light years) that includes the Milky Way, Laniakea, the Shapley supercluster, the Perseus–Pisces supercluster, and the South Pole Wall....
I admittedly have not read a lot of Asimov but The Last Question is one of the few stories I've read in full (it helps that it's a short story) and I absolutely loved it!
Wow I just so happened to jump back on here and check out the Timelapse video right as my THC tablet kicked in. 10/10 highly recommend the experience, no pun intended.
You might as well jump in! It's free, saves transfer from chapter to chapter, and it gives you plenty of time to figure out if you're happy with the route you're playing or if you want to turn up the good or evil for a different end game.
Fair enough, I totally get that! I'm just on the other end of things -- I feel like Toby Fox is saying that you can always choose to be better or you can ultimately make a turn for the worst, sometimes you change in time for it to make a difference and sometimes you don't. Since Deltarune actually has multiple save slots I've found it easier to do a Sliding Doors kind of What If...? scenario where I can see how things are different depending on what choices I make.
I confess I can't go truly evil without feeling awful but I am curious about certain things like how I decide to help a certain character, who I encourage, if I want the main character to be an independent single type that cherishes their friendships or what if I choose to give one of those love interests a chance. I could only do the two intended playthroughs of Undertale with the single save system and how long it was to go through the entire game twice. With the multiple save slots in Deltarune and the fact that I have plenty of time in between chapters to play through each one through two alternate saved paths is what actually makes it possible for me to see what could have been if I'd chosen differently the first time instead of having to look it up later. The chapters are actually pretty long so it's hard for me to imagine playing through the entire game multiple times without these long breaks in between.
It is the first game developed internally by Annapurna Interactive, although little else is known except that Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth takes place betw...
This may be their first internal development but they are a fantastic game publisher already! They take a lot of chances publishing weirder stuff and it pays off a lot of the time. My favorites are:
Outer Wilds
Journey
Stray
What Remains of Edith Finch
Donut County
Gone Home
Kentucky Route Zero
I kind of look at them as the A24 of games (nevermind that Annapurna Pictures is a thing) where they have excellent taste in choosing what odd features to publish and give a chance despite not creating them themselves. It at least suggests they care about the artistry of the product to a point where I'm expecting that same standard in their first hands-on development.

Also, if you haven't checked into it yet, The Expanse video game from Telltale is a prequel with Cara Gee returning to once again be the voice of Camina Drummer!
If you haven't seen it yet, check out the movie Coherence (2013)! It's one of my favorite sci-fi movies. The actors were taken aside and given certain direction but were never given a full script, so every time you see them arguing or trying to figure out what's happening or surprised by something, it's all genuine.
Here's the synopsis but don't read anything else about it before you watch: [Synopsis: Strange things begin to happen when a group of friends gather for a dinner party on an evening when a comet is passing overhead.]
It's free if you already have Amazon Prime. A fantastic sci-fi puzzle to solve (similar to Primer in that way but very much its own thing).
A tourist filmed carving his and his girlfriend’s name into the walls of the Roman Colosseum faces a huge fine as Italian authorities vow to find the man.
The article does say "and possible jail time" but from the ending paragraphs it sounds like the other tourists that carved their initials years ago just got a similar fine and a mark on their records.
It does seem low and I wonder if it scales at all or is a standard fine? At that rate, Jeff Bezos could go carve an entire autobiography into the place for an amount of money he wouldn't even notice losing.
If this is OC, try using "rewards" to get him used to brushing! Taking a few pieces of kibble and giving him one at a time while brushing and one immediately afterward will help him tolerate it. I've known a few dogs with contact sensitivity where brushing isn't their favorite thing, but is happy to let me gently get all that excess hair off in exchange for some treats!
I absolutely love The Expanse intro -- I always let it play for the incredible song and started to notice all the changing visuals to match the progression in the show as a result.
DuckTales is one of those opening songs that I sing along with because I know the lyrics. The Expanse is one of those opening songs that I sing along with despite not knowing any of the lyrics at all.
This was what I was looking for, the intro to Peacemaker never fails to brighten my day! It's easily the most James Gunn thing imaginable and it's brought to life for all to enjoy. I added so many songs from that show's soundtrack onto my workout playlist, all starting with the intro song.
It is so completely perfect that I'm really curious what they're gonna do for the Season 2 intro with new incoming characters in place of the leaving minor characters since they brilliantly used even actors in small roles as part of the big dance.
The only lyrics I remember are his name in the chorus but it's definitely stuck with me. Also he's a space explorer! With that, Bucky O'Hare kind of bridges the gap between The Expanse and DuckTales in a way.
Setting Up the Lair is totally on my workout playlist! Blake Neely really knows how to write a score that keeps me pushing when I start to run out of gas.
So the admins that were okay with u/awkwardtheturtle being a powermod are now just all of a sudden serious about quickly enforcing rules against protesting mods?
Frankly, it's very refreshing to see someone running the show that has this combination of work ethic, passion without hunger for power, and honesty. Thank you for the transparency!
You've obviously got a million things going on a minute here. Like someone juggling flaming swords, I don't think anyone is going to blame you for dropping one accidentally while more fire-soaked swords keep being tossed at you. Seems like you know what to do and that there are a lot of talented folks here willing to provide help anyway they can. We're with you (me in the sentimental sense, I'm not so talented when it comes to coding)!
