I bought an old iPad2 for the purpose of viewing a Home Assistant dashboard via a web browser. My thinking was that the ability to browse the web was the sole requirement for a tablet for this purpose, but I was wrong: Home Assistant’s web pages apparently require a newer version of javascript than iOS 9.3.5 can handle, but...
I was involved with iOS Jailbreaking when I purchased my iPad 2 and iPod touch new back in the day. I’ve been using iPads with home assistant for a very long time. All of these answers are not going to help OP. Your’re not putting Linux on it. Jailbreaking is not going to give you a modern browser or anything useful. Docker solutions involving screenshots or VNC is insane. The answer is to recycle that iPad and buy a cheap android table.
It would be great if someone created a fediverse browser native app. Log into all the platforms and add a translation layer to create a truly unique experience. Maybe it would only make sense if you could authenticate one account on all the activitypub platforms? I understand the amount of technical hurdles and maintenance to do so. I suppose I find the thought of experiencing them combined intriguing. If someone created A single app experience, in a intuitive way, I’d definitely give it a try. I can see lemmy posts on mastidon. Would be kind of cool if it could handle that and display those posts using a lemmy ui. But making it seamless.
My understanding of the word banger is it's reserved for good songs. There are many good slow songs as well, but the word banger seems to imply something more intense and bombastic. So, is it appropriate to describe slow songs as a banger?
Gen Z has redefined “banger”. I’m not old man’n here. It’s okay. Every generation does it.
We used to use “that’s banging“ quite a bit in the 90s and my understanding was the musically it was mostly used as “head banging” for heavy music. Again, don’t care how people want to define it today. I’ve still mostly seen it referenced to music that hits you a bit harder than most, but whatever.
It appears Home Assistant’s official PrusaLink integration is not yet compatible with the PrusaLink API shipped with a MK4 printer. This project was put together as a temp solution to fix my existing automations requiring various metrics from the Printer’s API....
Over the time new youtube videos crop up talking about reddit, twitch and twitter issues. And in those comment sections I always like to spread the word of alternatives (like the fediverse). But whenever I do, those comments get quietly removed even though they seem to be posted in the first place....
Proceeds to then write a detailed timeline of the events that will occur. Either this is a joke or someone needs to be talked too by an adult and explained how the human body works.
There you go. Give the kid who doesn’t understand the basics of the human body advice on how to colon cleanse a day before the trip. I’m sure it will turn out just fine.
It feels like more Lemmy apps are going to make their way on to the app stores. With more apps, comes more people. More people, more API calls. How do we scale this server and hopefully all of the others to come, financially?...
Is it possible to flash a new OS onto an old iPad 2?

Recently purchased a Prusa MK4 and found out Home Assistant does not yet support it. So I wrote my own solution. (github.com)

So apparently youtube, or its comment system, is against the fediverse
