#Trump did not challenge the election results because he believed he truly won, he attempted to overturn the election results because he knew that he lost.
May seem sensational of me to say it, but if he wins the next election to then pardon himself it will mean democracy is basically done with in this country.
@victor The indictment is so much worse than we knew. He threatened to jail the Georgia SOS if he didn’t fraudulently change the votes. We were saved by dozens of local GOP officials, many of whom are being replaced by trump loyalists. It’s terrifying.
All we can do is vote, vote, vote! I didn’t volunteer in 2020 due to COVID and fears of political violence, but this indictment has shaken me and I will be volunteering again next year.
@victor Sounds like I'm explaining the sorting algorithm we used to have on joinmastodon.org. It was by proximity to a certain number of active users, rather than simply descending or ascending.
#Threads onboarded the entire #fedi in hours, but will organic communities form there when they are all governed by Meta?
I think that has already been proven impossible multiple times now. I can bear witness to organic communities here. I see so many every day. It’s a good thing. This app is a result of one company being scared to death of the Internet being taken back from them.
@SpaceLifeForm no, this conversation took place prior to Facebook acquiring Instagram…but the reasoning is very apt in comparison to Meta, Instagram specifically, wanting a presence on the fedi.
@victor They will never come, They won't see a nickel or a dime again! But it could happen. they could always make an app for the fediverse and charge like $5 it would probably be better then everyones cause of the billions that will go into it. but you never know!
