Back in late September, WizKids shipped their Disco themed board game based on the four mirror universe episodes of season one, striking while the iron is room temperature. Big Remedy fan so picked this up day one thanks to positive reviews. While I enjoy it, it suffers from the same problem I felt from Alan Wake 1: the combat is too hard and not that fun. Looks like I’ll be preferring the easy difficult again. That’s okay, still a confident and strong game so far.
Since launch I’ve had to download two patches already. I’m playing on ps5 so it’s uncertain whether they’d help you or not, but that’s all to say that you may be able to play sooner than later since they’re offering so much post-release support.
Someone could definitely program their media player to make it appear as though the actors are waiting for you to press play again. Subtle rise and fall of the chest, blinking, all that.
This is classic cognitive disonnance. If they liked the person who made the car, I’m almost certain their mind would be different. This phenomena is particularly obvious whenever you see something that was once popular fall from grace. See the conversation around Justin Roiland or even Reddit before and after their respective controversies. You start to see the people say things to the tune of “blank was never good anyway.”
I don’t think it truly matters what phone you use so long as you’re satisfied with it.
I started with a Nokia and migrated to the galaxy s2 then a HTC. After some time I switched over to an iPhone 5 and then spent a couple years with a middle of the road android who’s brand I have not even committed to memory. My current is an iPhone 11 which I’m pleased with.
All this to say, I think there’s weird cultism around the android ecosystem that is, to me, offputting. Wave your flag with pride sure, but no need to poo poo someone else’s yum all the while.
Edit: I just looked at what community I commented in…

I enjoyed the episode well enough as a gimmick. It was clear the cast really enjoyed themselves and I’m glad we get episodes like this.
I am a fan of musicals and musical theatre. While it’s nice to see them have a go, it certainly is one of the musicals of all time. Nothing impressed me. It wasn’t particularly inspiring or interesting. Forcing that dreadful auto tune on several of the characters felt even worse. It would have felt charming for them to not necessarily nail every note. In the end, I now see in retrospect why the marketing for this episode contained none of the musical numbers; the executives might have thought it would put people off.
I never mind when a good Star Trek show does an average episode because I’m always happy to see more of the characters I love.
After last weeks episode, which in my opinion could be one of, if not the best Star Trek has done in 30 years, I feel like they can take the small L here.
I respectfully disagree with you entirely. Patrick offered up many good points, but his best came from his breakdown of exactly how the AI might do a better job of using Wes Anderson tropes. Matter of fact, your recount of the video is so wildly different from my viewing, it’s hard to believe you’ve written your post in good faith. I wonder, what do you know that I don’t know?
That’s a thoroughly convincing perspective. I suppose we will never truly know the story for sure behind what OP said, but I would like to give the benefit of the doubt that perhaps these conversations were had respectfully at an appropriate time and place. But also, knowing the bad-faith approach many take when talking about trans rights, it is hard not to lean on the possibility that there is mal-intent.
I don’t really understand why people do it. Not like “they’re doing it because they are depressed and feel bad”, I had depression myself but never had a call to injure myself. I hate pain, and doing something painful to myself while I’m already feeling bad doesn’t really sound appealing. So I don’t quite get what...
I believe you’re referring to the way some teenagers will brag about it covertly to their friends. Make no mistake, while on the surface it may appear as you say, that’s just the veneer of confidence they’re wearing that belies deeper inner turmoil. I won’t try to unpack what those turmoils are as they are different for everyone and I speak not as a psychological professional but as a professional educator.
What I encourage you to consider is the level of complexity people are burdened by and that when people with awful turmoil enter into your life, even just for a brief moment, that they should be first met with authentic empathy and care before cynicism as the stakes of treating these subjects with anything less are far too severe.
I think that as a result of the size of reddit, it was unlikely to have engagement when you commented, and it was common to get unkind engagement if it did happen. It’s nice to have a fresh start, but since there’s less of us, it is also a much more intimate experience.

I think we’ve got enough time with the community like this that we can enjoy it while it lasts, and the newfound wisdom to appreciate it before it’s gone. :)
You nailed it. I joined reddit circa 2011 and what the site has become is just night and day by comparison. It used to feel actually engaging to interact with folks. If I’m understanding the UI correctly, lemmy doesn’t record an overall “karma”. This should discourage farming.
I don’t want to dox myself, but I’ve been at my job for 5+ years. I guess either my boss or I fat fingered something while I was on boarding, cuz just now I was going over some paperwork and… As far as my job is concerned I’m Native American. I am very much white. Nobody ever brought it up....
Europe has a different history with heritage and bloodlines of indigenous people so it makes sense it’s not as big of a conversation there.
I’m aus, we’re a settlement too, therefore conversations of heritage matter a great deal. Speaking in practical terms, there can be potential benefits to identifying as indigenous in the form of welfare due to the disadvantages indigenous people face.

Is it just me or did anyone else became a more avid poster since joining lemmy?
On reddit I was a lurker that posted like once or twice a year, but ever since joining lemmy I’ve started posting multiple times a day.
