I’m hoping !artbykids picks up. It’s a community to post art created by kids. I know a lot of parents are proud of their kids’ artwork but don’t want to share it because they don’t know if everybody else would find it great/cute/adorable/etc. This is a positive community where any artwork by kids is welcome with positive vibes. I hope it gets more people proudly showing off their kids’ artwork, because I think kids artwork is more than just a piece of art, it’s a window into a kid’s mind.

Thank you! Even if you don’t plan on posting there, consider commenting positive things to the submissions as that is a major way to encourage people to participate freely.
Basically I’m looking for something that’ll help if my car happens to get stolen. Ideally it’d be something I can just set and forget, and doesn’t have a subscription....
They’re useless if there’s no iPhone nearby. It is pretty useless to even keep tabs on my 7yo when she wants to play in the cul de sac because people stay in their homes and the street is not close enough to the phones inside the houses.
It’s interesting how people often miss important details when they do self portraits. It’s probably intentional here to miss the glasses because he drew the glasses on the reflection and the artist himself, but I had an art teacher who did his self portrait and forgot his mustache.
In this video, a Canon print cartridge is opened up and revealed not to contain the meagre 11.9 ml (0.4 fl oz) of ink it is advertised. The proposed solution is to buy a printer designed to be manually refilled with bottles of ink (such as the featured Epson EcoTank ET-2850), though it has only been tested briefly.
I bought a canon color laser printer two years ago with the starter toners. After about 6 months or so, warning came that one of the colors is empty. It was still printing fine so I continued printing. One by one, warning came for all colors, so I bought a 3rd party toner set, but still didn’t replace them because they were still printing fine. 2 years later, I’m still getting warnings that all colors are empty, but just the other day, I printed color pictures of all the 700 Pokémon for my daughter. They’re still going good. I don’t know if they’ll ever actually run dry, or if I should preemptively replace the toners.
New experiences will keep loneliness away. Go to a nearby city and try a new restaurant there after visiting some new place there. It’s all about perspective. These days if I get 3 days alone, I’d be very happy.

The trailer looks great, and an environmental puzzle game with action elements seems perfect for an ATLA game. My 7yo is a big ATLA fan, and we play games together regularly (mostly zelda games), so will definitely check this out.
What do we think? I’m not much of a gamer these days, but may check out a mobile game.
I’m the other way actually. I can’t see mobile games as anything other than low effort cash grabs made for short attention spans. Please prove me wrong with your favorite mobile games.
Work From Home was a big cultural change for the country, and we all see how that went (even after initially lauding it). I’m not holding my breath on this. Anything that reduces stress on the employees would never get commonplace, because stress is how they keep the workers in check.
Every single company now wants everybody to come back to office, even those who worked remote before Covid. Even zoom, whose very business is keeping people at home is making their employees return to office.
I don’t have a direct line with every single company in the world, but I do have this thing called a figure of speech. RTO is a pretty big trend right now, you only need to search the news and find out about it. Not sure why you’re trying to prove that there is at least one company in the world that doesn’t want people to return to office.
I don’t know what you mean by ‘riding hard for rto’. Could you explain? My own company made everybody come back to office after selling the old place and setting up a smaller place made for remote work. May be you are not impacted by rto, but it’s a very real issue, and you seem to be oddly dismissive about it.
Even that didn’t work for me. My old comments kept popping back up. I had to delete them mulitple times and then manually whackamole the ones that popped up to finally get rid of them.
I made a post a few days ago asking your opinion on Manjaro and it was very mixed, with a slightly negative overall opinion. I heard some recommend EndeavourOS instead and did some online research and it seems to be pretty solid and not have the repository problem that Manjaro has....
I’ve been using it for a while now. It’s generally good. I’ve been facing random system crash issues during gaming or using Firefox or background steam. I have an amd 6800xt and don’t have this issue on fedora.
Sure, feel free! I think some more posts would help break the ice and set the expectations for the kind of posts you would like to see in the community. May be some posts about tips and tricks, annoyances, personal victories, etc. from your experiences. I find it easier to comment than post in a community. (I’m neither a woman nor can run to save my life, so I wouldn’t be able to participate, unfortunately)
What I’ve found is that after a week socializing with twins, it’s pretty much impossible to confuse one with the other, especially if they’re older. There’s always some little quirk that differentiates the two. The parents who raised them would have to be out of the world shitty if they can’t tell apart their children.
That is fascinating! My dad always called me by my brother’s name and vice versa. He would start with the wrong name and end with the right name, so it would feel like we both had two names.
I’m currently using budgetvoip, but look through the list when my balance runs out, and find one that has good rates for where I want to call. Some of them have desktop app support, if that’s something you want. I have used voipyo and telbo in the past, but I’ll switch if I find a different provider with better rates.
As for financial stuff, if I know I do better than them, I die on the hill and insist I do it. If I know we’re the same level or if they do better than me, I do two passes of the awkward dance before giving up.
If you tap on the list button at the top left corner, you’ll see list of your subscribed communities. You can tap on any of them to go to that community page. You can also tap on the community name on a post in the main feed and go to that community. Lastly, you can also go to the search page and search for a community and go to its page. Let me know if you’re facing any difficulties.

How do I explain to a person that the "red pill mentality" is stupid?
This is a genuine question, as every time I have an argument about this with someone they bring a point so utterly stupid that it leaves me stumped…
