Racist grampa tree has a point, though. Monocultural conifer tree forests are oftentimes a bad idea. We have a lot of problems with our (artificially created) monocultural conifer forests here in German lately. Basically they are just dying of large scale, due do pests. It really is heartbreaking to see hectars of dead trees. Multiculturalism is just the better way and leads to stronger societies, ehm, forests.

Still good. In Germany the sale of Christmas sweets and decoration started in the last week of August. It’s just ridiculous. I think we had almost 30°C when I first saw it.

Maybe on day 1. On day 100 you are simply immune to coffee and need to stop drinking coffee for 2 weeks to have any effect again.

Mate tea can also be am extra , when one is already mostly caffeine immune. Don’t know why, but it works (to a degree).

They have to go on bicycle lanes and streets (where there is no bicycle lane) here in Germany. Makes sense tbh. Cars should be slowed down to 30km/h in settlements though imo. Going on a 50km/h street is neither safe for bicycle, nor e-scooters, nor for crossing pedestrians.

And they are great ways of transportation. Grant us public transport users so much more independency.

They should introduce enforced signal lights though (only some have them). That is my only real concern here. Signalling with the arm is just not safe on a e-scooter.

But why? It is a full Linux distro. All games compatible to the Steam deck also run on other distros. So the motivation to develop for Linux is the same and we users of other destroy profit from that the same.

100%. I just don’t get productive before 13:00 and my best time is 17:00 to 19:30. I come to work at 8:30, sit arround basically not accomplishinga anything before noon and then work productively a couple of hours and when I start to really get stuff done I am forced to stop (working has to stop at 18:00 here).

My guess: the windows update fucked up Grub. Happened to me once or twice in 20 years of dual booting. It is also easily recoverable.

They should concentrate on making EVs financially more plausible for people without an electrified garage. Half of Germany lives in flats, most without an own parking space and will pay much more for charging their EV with much less comfort. And politics seem to completly ignore that.

So: no. That is not what I mean. That is a pretty much useless imo, there are so many charging stations everywhere and they are mostly empty whenever I see one anyways (maybe, just maybe, because depending on a EV is so difficult for almost everyone living in flat?).

I live in the city and am lucky to almost never need a car. Many of my neighbours need a car though for various reasons. There is not a single EV car in the whole neighborhood of several thousand people. And guess the reason: it is impossible to switch to one. And this law proposed here will do zero to change that.

You see a shitload of EV cars in the suburbs though.

Make it 100 appartments in 3-4 times the space (in 4 smaller buildings with balconies, community gardens, shared spaces, picnic areas and so on) as a compromis and I am all in!

Maybe in the US. In Germany this defintly isn’t the rule. Many people own their own flats and a lot of people own 2-4 flats to rent them out as an extra income.

But it is defintly not a given that an apartment has to be the tool of a slum lord, the way they portrayed it to discredit the idea that appatments are a more sustainable way of living…

Apartments can be owned by the people who live in it and this is quite common in many countries.
