Like a simple secondary horn that’s quieter and less aggressive?

meco03211,

Your town is now bankrupt.

meco03211,

Fine. No one eligible for Medicare. That can’t possibly go…

meco03211,

Also idling cars are massive targets for thieves.

meco03211,

Does a “no” vote by the US automatically veto it? Or did they have to take an additional action? If the vote alone didn’t veto it, that’s the perfect place to hedge your bets. Vote no, then don’t veto it. You can claim both sides then to appease everyone.

meco03211,

Well that’s dumb. But rules are rules.

meco03211,

It was more meant that they couldn’t vote no then not veto. That being the case they should have at least abstained like the UK.

meco03211,

Fun fact. Clocks used to have a limit at 2 hours (unsure if it’s still that way). If you snoozed for 2 hours after the original alarm, it stopped alarming altogether. Ask me how I know.

meco03211,

Brother in law, stubborn as he is, outright refuses any option other than giving it back to the shelter.

It’s hard to admit you’ve made such a big mistake. The magnitude of the solution directly relates to the magnitude of the mistake. If you got a jacket that you wind up not liking, no one would be put out if you returned it to the store. He’s only stubborn because he’s trying to convince himself he didn’t fuck up that bad.

meco03211,

That was the point. Most people understand that. I’m saying the brother in law is trying to convince himself his mistake is on the same level as getting a jacket you don’t like.

meco03211,

Can you buy another brand and do a quick test yourself? Then just return if it doesn’t. I imagine it’s just emitting some emf and any receiver can pick up signals. Depending on how sensitive stuff is, it might need to be tuned to certain frequencies.

meco03211,

Lack of research into THC is wholly due to moral panic. Weed was criminalized and legislated into the ground preventing it from being researched (not eligible for research grants or normal funding).

I can easily say it helped with my anxiety. So one anecdotal data point in support.

meco03211,

Have a lot of this myself. THC and Adderall have helped me immensely.

meco03211,

Like the green text

(Heavily paraphrasing)

Player: like a werewolf but a house?

DM: furiously scribbling stats for a werehouse It is now!

The best self defense technique is only taught through one school. It has been referred to by different names over the millenia though. The crazy thing is, it is super simple and easy to pick up. Of course I’m referring to the ancient art of Run-fu (or Run Foo!). It has also been called Tae-Kwan-Go or Jiu-Sprintsu.

In all seriousness though, what are you hoping to gain? All around self defense? Exercise? Train for a street fight with “rules” (like spectators will stand you up the moment it goes to the ground)?

meco03211,

Or, “take on some/all of my tasks without consideration for your current workload and with no additional compensation.”

meco03211,

Then got called out hard by Christie. Then repeated the line a third time.

meco03211,

It’s a “losing” scenario in my mind. We know they’re guilty. The question is whether that will be the true outcome or if some bullshit happens. Then you become either a dumb lawyer who took a losing case and lost. Or you become the shitbag that took a losing case and either delayed until trump was in power to quash all this or used unethical means to secure a bullshit outcome simply because of who your client is.

No doubt they will curry favor with the sycophants and rich criminals. But they’ll never be able to make those same plays again.

meco03211, (edited )

Nostalgia person here. Resubbed for classic tbc. Blizzard fixed fucked around and did stupid shit. I canceled and joined a private server.

meco03211,

They also need to hold them to the “look to the future” bullshit. Hit back at 'em with a “we’re looking to the future” when they cry about Hunter’s laptop or something else.

meco03211,

In the US just peer through the crack between the door and the wall. Ensure solid eye contact with the current occupant. Determine how much time they’ve left. Adjust plan accordingly.

meco03211,

How easy was setting up the pi-hole?

meco03211,

Pretty sure iron deficiency is treated with rust pills. Literally just powdered rust. And as we all know rust is just the “refined” product of iron with oxygen. That’s precedence if I ever saw it.

meco03211,

So not rust but other forms of refined iron?

meco03211,

Ever inhale chlorine gas? Deadly! Ever tossed sodium in water? Explosive! Putting the two together could absolutely be modified chemical warfare agent. We should add it to the ban list right under dihydrogen monoxide.

meco03211,

My experience has been management is too stupid to properly employ metrics. If you let them pick, they pick the easiest ones. If they don’t get a choice, they just try to cheese the numbers to the detriment of the company. If you present options that make sense, they don’t understand them.

Maybe I’ve just worked for dumb companies, but they sucked hard with respect to metrics.

meco03211,

Apologies if I misled you a bit. My experience is in manufacturing, not coding. My advice would be to identify issues in terms of cost. That’s what the company truly cares about. Talk to your people and find out what their biggest pain points are. Then order those issues in terms of effort to rectify vs return on investment. Problems that are low effort but high return get prioritized. Then just whittle the list down.

This takes a broader approach to metrics. But as I mentioned, metrics can be cheesed. It’s hard to cheese overall cost. If you prioritized number of bugs, I’d assume the time would go up. If you prioritized time, I’d assume bugs would go up. Prioritizing either doesn’t really solve the problem. You want the root cause of those bugs. Are certain bugs more prevalent (can bugs be categorized even?). Then work those down.

I’d be more then willing to flesh out some more details if you’d like. I genuinely love that kind of stuff. Unfortunately I don’t have coding specific experience.

meco03211,

Pretty sure there were slaves that actively sought to maintain slavery. In some cases, they had relatively decent lives compared to other slaves and even some free black people.

meco03211,

Read an interesting article that said insurance companies lose tons of money because of time changes. Animals supposedly get used to traffic being low/high at certain times of day (based on the sun cause they don’t have watches). So when the time changes, they keep their same routine and end up causing more accidents while crossing roads they are used to being empty.

meco03211,

Do you want downvotes? Cause that’s how you get downvotes.

meco03211,

Fucking degenerate probably put ketchup on it.

meco03211,

I’d say “fuck predatory app-based businesses”. Is there something inherently wrong with app-based businesses?

meco03211,

Look if the founding fathers wanted to restrict my right to bear thermonuclear arms they shoulda added an addendum to the second amendment. Those "fore"fathers didn’t have much foresight. Now let me buy plutonium.

meco03211,

Perhaps their understanding of feminism has come from the violently extreme “kill all men” types of feminists or the opposing “get back in the kitchen” type of conservative shitbags making up all sorts of scary and mean things about them.

meco03211,

Thank you. I hate that some people just cannot accept that extremists exist on “their team”. I had another post downvoted to hell when I made a similar claim and provided plenty of tweets (or whatever the fuck they’re called nowadays) and other evidence. It was met with the same “that’s not real” or worse “it’s just satire”.

Man trapped in jewelry vault overnight is freed when timer opens the chamber as scheduled (apnews.com)

NEW YORK (AP) — A man was trapped inside a steel-reinforced concrete jewelry vault in New York City overnight after firefighters had to abandon an attempt to rescue him for safety reasons. Fortunately, the vault was on a timer and opened on its own Wednesday morning, officials said.

meco03211, (edited )

Were they incapable of communicating with him?

meco03211,

almost always suffixed with “formerly Twitter” so people actually remember what the fuck it is

This continues to bring me such joy.

meco03211,

They flat out don’t understand how federal laws are enforced. Most of the shitty anti-welfare or anti-handout “ideas” they have would not save money. I always ask these chucklefucks if they would still support those ideas if they cost more than they saved. They can never answer that question.

meco03211,

I’d heard the original saying was “I could care less, but I’d have to try.” Implying it would take effort which you weren’t going to do because that’s how little you cared.

meco03211,

Well I could care fewer!

Interesting read though. Guess I’ll have to stop chiming in on threads like that from now on. I shall endeavor to get smug satisfaction elsewhere.

meco03211,

Could have meant to kill a bunch of people and go out in a blaze of “glory” then had second thoughts and just skipped to the end.

meco03211,

My prediction is this will stay roughly the same until a major event involving someone killing or grievously wounding a cop, claiming self defense (or defense of others) , and being acquitted of any major charges. And I don’t mean a no knock warrant situation where a good ole boy shoots at “intruders” just busting down the wrong door. I mean like a George Floyd case or a Daniel Shaver case. Something with a ridiculously over aggressive cop starting shit and losing.

House Speaker Mike Johnson Responds to New Round of Scrutiny About Black Son (www.vanityfair.com)

Mike Johnson’s meteoric elevation from an under-the-radar congressman from Louisiana to second-in-line to the U.S. presidency sent journalists, Democrats and Republicans alike to uncover information about the personal and professional history of the most right-wing and least experienced House Speaker in history, who took the...

meco03211,

The story is that the kid is now 38. According to his campaign prior to running they talked and the kid requested to not be involved in the new public life.

If true that’s actually pretty big.

meco03211,

I definitely don’t know the whole story. I’d love to know the truth provided it didn’t invade on the privacy of someone that didn’t ask for any of this. Which would be impossible to know without invading the privacy of someone. I know time and time again I’ve been fooled when trying to give conservatives even the slightest benefit of the doubt.

meco03211,

But it does support the notion that the severely mentally ill or those prone to the sorts of delusions that lead to mass murder are drawn to right wing extremist ideologies. It’s why a staggeringly lopsided proportion of terrorist attacks and mass killing acts are perpetrated by the right wing extremists.

meco03211,

Whoa whoa whoa. We haven’t even gotten to thoughts and prayers. Then comes mental health. Last is the “it’s too soon to talk about this”. Then the cycle starts anew.

meco03211,

Just give me all the viagra you have. Wait … I worry what you heard was, 'Give me a lot of viagra. ’ What I said was, give me all the viagra you have.
