Nowadays I find a lot of games feel like too much work and/or anxiety when I just want to relax for like, 30 minutes to an hour after a long day. On the other hand, the games specifically designed to help you unwind just feel boring imo....
Try Noita by the same company who did Baba then. It’s one of those games that leaves you with “oh holy shit what the fuck just happened… Oh, that was my fault. Oops.” in an endless loop. I’m up to like 400 hours and have never gotten anywhere near that many hours out of another game. Not even FF7 (the OG, of course)
It’s not for everyone, but I absolutely adore it. It’s incredibly hard, but once you get the idea of what’s going on, if it’s still too hard I highly recommend checking out the steam workshop. I tend to play with a couple mods to make it a bit easier and then go wild with mods for spells, enemies, world gen, etc. Even without mods every single run is wildly different.
Anyway, again it’s not for everyone, but the combination of a simulating every pixel, endless spell combinations, and the hilarity that ensues because I tried something new that I thought was safe, well, it’s a recipe for either a really good time or throwing a controller at the wall. For me, good times. And I say that when I loathe games that are too hard for me most of the time.
I’m curious what people here listen to, and I’m also looking for new ones to check out. I’m personally a big fan of Linux Unplugged, MBMBaM, Lateral, and Twenty Thousand Hertz!...
If HashiCorp is unwilling to switch Terraform back to an open source license, we propose to fork the legacy MPL-licensed Terraform and maintain the fork in the foundation. This is similar to how Linux and Kubernetes are managed by foundations (the Linux Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, respectively), which...
Want to hear a fun fact? I grew up in a fundie family and spent every Wednesday after (christian) school, for hours in the Florida sun, wearing a suit, walking door to door trying to get people to be “saved”./ Before spending 2 hours that evening in church where we’d tive status reports on how many we’d “saved” that day. I feel really fucking guilty about that, but I blame my parents more for forcing me into that. Fuck em.
I dunno, maybe one or two a month? Not that many. People in that podunk orange-grove town were already pretty religious either at the same church or similar. Generally was kids who didn’t know any better that were just outside playing or teens around our age. And yes, almost all of it was “no thanks, goodbye”
We also once spent a week in the far off land of heathens you might have heard of before. It’s called “Canada”. Pretty third world, but we definitely unheathened a lot of kids at church camp that week.
Man I feel so dirty just thinking about what I used to consider “normal” human behavior and all the churchy judginess I had. Thanks parents. At least I got out as soon as I was old enough and never looked back.
Made a rub, did a 2 hour cold smoke then a 2 hour hour hot smoke. It was juicy and delicious. This time I didn’t brine it but it still was super moist and tender.
Oh fabulous! I smoked my first chicken about a week ago and it was fantastic. Didn’t brine mine either. I think I did 225 until it hit 165 internal and that was it. The whole family loved it.
Oh right I forgot all about snaps. Yeah I haven’t used it as a dedicated desktop since probably 2006. It’s generally all server usage in the cloud for me these days, which basically means everything is disposable and I couldn’t care less about the full OS in general. I really do need to get back on Linux for personal use though. I don’t really care for running VMs on windows for my self hosted stuff.
Right so I love resin stuff and despise sanding so I’ve tried a lot of things. First, sanding is actually great. Miserable process, but once you have a single piece that you like, it’s pretty trivial to mold and cast it again and again and again. Does take some equipment though for quality, repeatable results.
If you go with sanding, grab some micro mesh pads. They’re great.
Me neither, when it comes to printing. I do a lot of casting in resin though. But don’t know shit when it comes to printing with it. FDM is my pride and joy there.
I partially know the answer to this question…You cannot host videos directly on Lemmy, but that is understandable, video hosting is pretty expensive, but Lemmy also doesn’t support video embeds(videos don’t play within Lemmy), which means that you will have to open the link in a new tab/window to watch it. Which is pretty...
