My fridge/freezer is like 70/30, and I really wish my freezer was at least 50% of the space of the fridge. My fridge is empty, my freezer is packed because I’m living solo right now and everything will go bad before I can eat it all. What would your dream fridge/freezer be like?
I was just having this conversation yesterday. Also live on my own, I think mine is 60/40 fridge/freezer, and I need more freezer space. I’m sure I waste a lot of energy with the freezer door open trying to fit everything in like a game of Tetris. I don’t understand the law of physics that says that when I take something out of the freezer and use some of it, there’s no longer space to put the (now smaller) thing back in? I can only assume it’s freezer gremlins messing with me. Ideally a 50/50 or 40/60 fridge freezer would do me I think, but when you’re limited to buying cheap and / or second hand you don’t tend to have many options.
Hottest would be 49°C in Marrakech, in the middle of August. I remember Moroccans talking about how hot it was, and a big thunderstorm broke that evening with torrential rain.
Coldest would be at home in the UK. Probably the coldest I’ve experienced would be about -7°C, that’s pretty extreme where I am though and it would be the night time temperature. I remember a few years ago going clubbing in winter and someone robbed my coat, I had to walk home at 3am in about -3°C with my friends trying to keep me warm. Not fun.

Thank you for this comment, I was logging out and back in over and over getting more and more frustrated, I just cleared the storage and the cache and bingo! Working like a dream. It didn’t help that I was having trouble opening some of my documents on a work system at the same time, I was starting to get paranoid that the computer overlords were deleting me.
Maybe they won’t, maybe they’ll just stay addicted to clicking on bot generated content, and arguing with bots. Reddit has become yet another website that drives unhealthy and toxic behaviours, because profit, and it can be hard for people to get out of that. Honestly, thank fuck all this API stuff finally made a bunch of us leave, because I’m glad I’m out of there and over here, it’s such a relief.
Yeah I actually don’t want ALL of Reddit to end up here and for it to replicate it. I like this much better. I feel like there are actual grown ups here.
And also when we hear about the heads of logging companies serving long jail sentences for all the deaths of indigenous people they’ve been directly complicit in.
What is your ideal ratio of fridge to freezer space? And how many people in your household use it? My freezer is tiny and it's packed like a neutron star!

What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?
Indoor temperatures don’t count. I’m talking about the weather....
