WindyRebel,

As an American, I find this so stupid. Just put it all under one thing. I can’t believe how fragile we are as a culture that we need to separate these.

WindyRebel,

MEGAWEAPON! MEGAWEAPON! MEGAWEAPON!

WindyRebel,

Same boat. I easily drink a pot a day. Been thinking I should try and cut back, but maybe this is the push I need.

WindyRebel,

Are we even sure HE was elected? It’s all a sham! /s

WindyRebel,

Meta? Come on. The kids are on TikTok, Snapchat, BeReal, YouTube, etc and not instagram.

That said, these tech giants need to knocked down some pegs. All of them!

WindyRebel,

Oh, well, we’ve been over producing by taking in extra tasks and not getting raises for many years with extra work while in the office. I guess this is just our reciprocity and evening out our personal time.

I wonder if I sent him a pizza, would he feel better about it all?

Oh. And you expect me to be in the office? Then you should make an appearance daily in the office. I don’t care if you’re halfway across the US - you better show up to say hi and prove you’re there you fucking slacker.

WindyRebel,

Aaaaaaaand how much does the state get in tax payer funds/year that is supposed to be used to help with these people and their plight in that state? I’m sure they get humanitarian aid.

Playing in my 4e group, it’s all pen and paper and minis on a battle map that is drawn on.

I DM 5th and I use a battle map and minis, some printed mats, and a large books of battle mats (made by Loke). I also use dndbeyond to look up monster stats or quickly search rules and I play music via a Bluetooth lightbulb above our gaming table using Spotify. Finally, I use a laptop with google sheets for tracking initiative (and I kind of keep track of player HPs, AC, and spell saves) and google docs for outlining campaigns and taking notes.

My players for 5th use dndbeyond and can create characters using my resources I share and they are added to my campaign there so I can quickly review their stats/spells, etc as needed. Other players do it all pen and paper.

WindyRebel,

That Cancel’s so hot right now.

WindyRebel, (edited )

I read about the heat issues and thought it was baloney until my phone randomly started to heat up big time the other day while just browsing the web to read articles and use Voyager (my lemmy app). I ended up locking the screen and putting it down to cool down. It hasn’t happened since, but I do hope they figure it out because that was crazy weird!

WindyRebel,

TIL Brazzers has been in gaming advertising since at least 2002.

WindyRebel,

Oh, totally. I’m a child of the 80s and remember them fondly. I just thought it would be a funny comment.

Man, some of those ads were the epitome of sex sells!

WindyRebel,

And give the regional governors direct control over their territories?

WindyRebel,

Fear will keep the locals in line. Fear of progress!

WindyRebel,

Yup. That’s how it goes for sure for many. Not all, but there is a very large segment. They’re used to blocking or pressuring others into mass blocking (e.g., cancelling) others. There’s a time and a place for it, but it also seems to be the norm for anything that doesn’t align with them exactly.

I’m a millennial and we have our own issues, but that is theirs.

I can’t read the article, so not sure if this is all politically motivated or not. If so, I guess I can see their side to not disagreeing - there are moral issues that must be upheld.

WindyRebel,

Yup. I think that’s a big part of how/why they they are unwilling to disagree and keep a relationship even if you disagree - it’s easy to just block people and move on or organize a massive online movement against someone/something.

WindyRebel,

Yeah, if what I see in the articles and thumbnails are what he’s rockin’ then what the fuck is the problem?! He’s got a good thing going.

WindyRebel,

Been a Spigen fan for about 5-6 years now. Honestly, I have the liquid crystal clear case, along with the EZ fit tempered glass, on my 14 and have dropped a couple of times without any damage.

WindyRebel,

I hate to say it, but this (crashes and/or pilot deaths) is fairly common at the Reno air races.

WindyRebel,

That’s good. I moved away from the area in 2012. While the races were cool to see, they were definitely a liability.

WindyRebel,

Not just Anakin, but Rex too!

WindyRebel,

He was also standing and talking with the fighters in the near background when Anakin was talking to Ahsoka after she was mourning the deaths of the clones.

WindyRebel,

Good. When all they have left is bots and advertisers figure out that’s all their clicks are and then decide to abandon the platform entirely, then X will be done.

Did my part. Bye bye account!

WindyRebel,

Right, but they won’t pay. Eventually, it’s impossible to run servers or pay anyone. So it’ll die if there’s no advertisers and just bad actors and bots.

WindyRebel,

And that 3-5 years experience is needed in technology that came out 1.5 years ago!

WindyRebel,

I stopped having anything to do with them when the whole ordeal about abusing women in the workplace was coming out.

The whole company hasn’t been good since the third expansion of WoW came out.

Edit: and I know there will be a comment about me commenting here. Yeah, it popped up in my ALL feed and happened to click just to see what they did now

Google Chrome pushes browser history-based ad targeting • The Register (www.theregister.com)

Topics essentially works like this: rather than using cookies to track people around the web and figure out their interests from the sites they visit and the apps they use, websites can ask Chrome directly, via its Topics JavaScript API, what sort of things the user is interested in, and then display ads based on that. Chrome...

WindyRebel,

Bullshit.

The Super Mario Bros Super Show theme needed to be heard by the world.

WindyRebel,

You kick out the federalist that do things like, investigate overturning elections, and suddenly the midterms are all republican wins.

From there, you have someone who can get power passed to change things like presidential term limits. Now you have a king or an emperor with a bunch of yes men backing him up in decisions. Eventually, they can institute whatever policies they want and force states, by force, to enact what they want with military power and courts who rule in their favor.

Oh, but there are people in the military who will stand up and do what’s right? Well, they will be branded as wackos and enemies of the state who are speaking ill of the totally “legit” election. So they are put in front of a firing squad and all that’s left are those who already believe in Der Fuhrer.

It’s a complete shit show in the making and fucking frightening what they could do with disinformation and no checks.

WindyRebel,

How do you afford quality cameras when your budget goes to militarization of the force?

WindyRebel, (edited )

I thoroughly enjoyed both episodes. Where do I start?

First ep:

  • lots of OG Star Wars vibes with the logo, fade into a crawl, then start with a ship in space
  • lots of Phantom Menace vibes with the docking of the ship and two “Jedi” there for a “peaceful” thing, the little probe droid searching for a target with the shadowy apprentice waiting behind
  • the cameos of Rebels characters

Second ep:

  • the reveal of a night sister
  • could we get an older Cal Kestis cameo (unsure who the masked inquisitor is)?
  • Baylan with Dooku vibes of being evil, but also with a reason for that and why he thinks he’s right
  • some Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor parallels with gateways leading to other systems/planets
  • is this new Galaxy a reference or potential for Yuuzhan Vong?
WindyRebel,

Interesting. I haven’t read any of the new canon stuff about high republic. I do think they are/will tie in that stuff more though since it’s a whole new thing to explore. Anything that brings in new merchandise will make Disney say yes.

WindyRebel, (edited )

Ah. I misinterpreted your second point. I never read the stuff about the Tho Yor, so I was assuming it was High Republic stuff but I searched it and saw it’s Legends material

Edit: additionally, maybe they are going to introduce and retcon the Rakata as being from this new Galaxy originally? They’ve already talked about them in either Mando or Andor, I can’t remember.

WindyRebel,

They could for merchandising reasons. They would just tone them down some I think, but yeah, it’s a long shot.

WindyRebel,

Exactly this. You want to ban because of content you don’t like, well you don’t get to cherry pick. The content is or isn’t what it is. They learned that.

WindyRebel,

I see your point, but I offer this:

This happened in a school, but it could happen at a higher level too. If it truly didn’t affect them that much in day to day schooling, then why the reversal at the school level after this ban went into place?

My thoughts:

It sent a message and despite them not wanting to admit it, they know deep down that the same bullshit hate they are spewing can be used against them at a content level. It didn’t change their minds on how they feel about the issues - no, that will never happen but perhaps it’ll curb some frivolous grass root efforts when the logic is applied to them.

WindyRebel,

Damn, that looks delicious!

Can we also talk about the random Michael Bay Transformer standing blurred out on your lawn back there? What’s up with that?

WindyRebel,

Counter counter point. The inventor of the gif said it’s pronounced like the peanut butter. It’s already been settled.

WindyRebel, (edited )

And the person we’re responding here to also uses an example of language that evolved to what it is over a 300 year period FROM changes that happened between language barriers - Central American natives to Spanish to English (of which there are 2 variations).

The hard G or soft are pronounceable by the majority of the world. It’s not really a language barrier or change - it’s just inability to admit that maybe they were wrong in how they read it in their head and make the verbal change when evidence is provided.

With that said, they can continue to pronounce it with a hard g but it’s just being obstinate at this point.

WindyRebel,

What advantages? If memory serves correctly, they’d need a captain with a penis tattoo that says “welcome aboard” and a radar guy who can imitate whales. I’m not sure that’s so common.

WindyRebel, (edited )

Thanks for answering seriously even when I didn’t.

Interesting that they are quieter! I never would’ve guessed that. Thanks for sharing.

WindyRebel,

Thanks for the serious answer even when I was making a stupid joke/reference.

As I replied to someone else, that is very interesting.

My thoughts: It does seem extremely limited for its advantage though. The electric mode is basically a stealth option, but once they fire or do anything else then should be findable and that electric mode probably won’t last THAT long if they were being hunted actively.

WindyRebel,

Totally. Hahaha

WindyRebel,

Fantastic ideas! I was thinking of getting some delicious Baklava from a local place as well.

WindyRebel,

I was wondering about Kosher stuff as well. Thanks for helping confirm that is could be an option!

WindyRebel,

Well, I downvoted because how is this helpful or a thoughtful gift for anyone, unless this is something they specifically have an identity around or are heavily invested in?

Even an LGBTQ+ person I wouldn’t buy a rainbow flag or rainbow gear for unless they specifically wanted one and didn’t have one. I’d try and get them something useful like food, something to entertain themselves, etc.
