SSUPII,

Ah yes, even more phoning home!

SSUPII,

I honestly like this idea. The DuckDuckGo mobile browser already has this for websites, but I feel like its not really that meaningful and way too generic and forgiving. Also it’s chromium-based

SSUPII,

By accepting everything, you are also sending most of the time extra data to third parties. What you are doing is ill-advised if you care about privacy.

SSUPII,

Dopamine is what drives humans.

SSUPII,

Its sad. I LOVE the concept of smart devices, the fact that you can do things so much more conveniently with little interaction. They can absolutely be done without being privacy nightmares, but apparently companies are not interested in that.

SSUPII,

I love the idea! But as other have said it can be argued it would make the software non-FOSS. It’s still a nice license!

SSUPII,

One of the refunds reasons you can select is “the game doesn’t run on my PC”. This is completely valid.

SSUPII,

Yeah, when the eShop shut down they made Bank completely free. In the app it appears as you have an extremely large number of days of trial.

SSUPII,

It’s not GOG that does that. A lot of developers that publish there having lost the source code or the tools and knowledge to build it upload cracked or patched releases themselves. And it’s not a GOG thing either, as for example Sam & Max: Hit the Road is just the cracked DOS game bundled inside a ScummVM runner on both Steam and GOG releases.

Why are people so upset about the librarian changes?

I seriously don’t get it. Why do people expect to be able to get the most powerful enchantment in the game with just a a villager, a lectern, a book and some emeralds? And it’s not even that hard to get WITH the changes. Swamps aren’t that rare (even if they were, IT’S THE MOST POWERFUL ENCHANTMENT IN THE GAME), and...

SSUPII,

Survival is an extremely grindy gamemode from its conception, but to learn to like the grind and RNG. With some things like mining it can get to old Pokemon games levels of grind.

I like to think it as another parrot and the cracker meme situation. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgflip.com%2F4dtko9.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=8c5ddef88e6dcf6fee8b04b52cf67f909fc975e7bed777433232bd6c09d7e169&ipo=images

SSUPII,

There are also repackers like jc141 e LinuxRulez that also manage the dependencies and prefix for you. LinuxRulez also gives you appropriate Wine versions if needed

SSUPII,

I used VirtualBox to test Linux distributions at first. What I loved doing was install it, put it in full screen and use it one or two days the whole day using it for serious tasks and to mess around. Didn’t game on it of course because graphical capabilities in VMs are severely diminished. Thanks to this I found my true love being Debian, and I’ve been using it every day for 2 years after I’ve installed it outside of the VM.

I still do it but now I mess around in PCem with Windows 9x and pre-XP NT releases.

VirtualBox drivers for Linux are bundled inside most Linux distributions, unlike Hyper-V’s. Also, Hyper-V is really meant for Windows.

SSUPII,

No need. If you own one of the DSi line then it will die on its own.

SSUPII,

chroot into an ARM64 distribution is a must.

SSUPII,

There is a project for Debian too, but I don’t have root so I did it in proot. Works, but I couldn’t manage to start a VNC server for the life of me due to a complete lack of proper permissions and the lack of an init system.

SSUPII,

Why would some points be written here. This looks like a wannabe-knight

SSUPII,

Yeah this post smells “my flaws are not real, i don’t have any”

SSUPII, (edited )

Nice! What VPS are you using personally? I was thinking about Contabo with Debian. Not the cheapest but heard its nice!

SSUPII,

Don’t worry, the same can apply to Lemmy. Is just that Lemmy has so many more general purpose instances, and also many more users and content.

SSUPII,

The CX11 single vCPU and 2GB of RAM is enough for all of those? I wanted to be much safer about it and go for either a Contabo S or a Hetzner CX21 now that you proposed the service.

Contabo S gives much more around the same price, so I don’t know what’s exactly the catch here.

SSUPII,

You said you are still using the CX11. I understood about the extra storage, but I wanted to know how can the single CPU and 2GB handle all the services. Unless they are not as heavy as I think they are.

SSUPII,

Oh, understood! If upgrades are not charged immensely (for example like going from a CX11 to an exact replica of an higher tier somehow costing more per month) then I think it’s very good as a start.

SSUPII,

I don’t think so. Because everything can be explained with a scientific explanation it’s exactly why life is so interesting!

SSUPII,

Pokemon Black 2. Always, forever.

SSUPII,

What are the statistics for?

SSUPII,

Lutris lets you right click > Add to Steam

Its pretty quick

SSUPII,

I did the face 5 minutes ago

SSUPII,

You fell for misinformation.

This is a small site. The owner of the wind turbines had to phase them out due to them being at the end of their lifespan. As there is coal under them. A deal was stipulated a VERY long time ago where when the wind turbines would have had to be removed, an expansion of a coal mine would be built there at the agreement that it will be dismantled by 2030. We are talking about “multiple years” time ago, before the 2030 deadline.

SSUPII,

The tile is dangerously misleading. OP, please…

SSUPII,

There is no rule that forces you to copy the real article’s name. In this cases you want to make your own title to spark better debate.

SSUPII,

What version of Tetris are you talking about

Linux 6.6 To Better Protect Against The Illicit Behavior Of NVIDIA's Proprietary Driver (www.phoronix.com)

Luis Chamberlain sent out the modules changes today for the Linux 6.6 merge window. Most notable with the modules update is a change that better builds up the defenses against NVIDIA’s proprietary kernel driver from using GPL-only symbols. Or in other words, bits that only true open-source drivers should be utilizing and not...

SSUPII,

Open source software is given with specific licenses. The Linux kernel is made of many smaller open-source components that each can have their own license. Some of the licenses used disallow the partial or full usage of the licensed software or components in proprietary settings, or in general given usage for specific cases only (in this case, the Nvidia driver using components they are not licensed to use.).

SSUPII,

Just the existence of CUDA means Linux must remain a target for Nvidia.

Also, this can be quite easily compared to Windows changing their driver’s structure and functionality. And Microsoft did it many times in the past.

SSUPII,

Italy. 21, We only drive manual here

SSUPII,

This is already a thing, its in your profile settings.

SSUPII,

Black2/White2 used to be so missunderstood. People would absolutely kill each other for that right now

My Opinion: NewPipe, Piped, Invidious, etc's days are numbered.

With Reddit shutting down its API setting a precedent in the corporate tech world (and Reddit was a major outlier in that a ton of their users are technical minded and support third party clients, YouTube does not have that kind of userbase and will not get backlash for it), Twitter doing whatever the fuck they’re doing, and...

What I sent was an old screenshot from the web, but I confirmed it now. Google Search still works on Windows 2000 and IE5 in the middle of 2023
