Telegram is owned by a person born in Russia, but has long moved out and lives in Germany Dubai, where Telegram’s HQ is located

SSUPII, (edited )

No. He was born Russian, but has moved out of it after his other social platform VK was confiscated and now owned the Russia. He lives in Germany Dubai, where he placeed Telegram’s HQ.

SSUPII,

Still have to try it, definitely looks cool. Especially if its true that recordings are not sent anywhere.

SSUPII,

That’s at least 500 2 ton rocks, one for each week

SSUPII,

Only Mercedes on its higher tier models.

SSUPII,

BMW for minor driving assistance and recording (like cockpit recording). In Tesla is autopilot, major driving assistance, blind spot showing and accident prevention.

SSUPII,

Try KDE Neon, it bundles Plasma that has nice touchscreen support and has a virtual keyboard installed that just needs to be enabled, if even necessary.

SSUPII,

I suggested Neon due to its bundle with a onscreen keyboard. Fedora KDE or most other distros with Plasma don’t.

My Opinion: NewPipe, Piped, Invidious, etc's days are numbered.

With Reddit shutting down its API setting a precedent in the corporate tech world (and Reddit was a major outlier in that a ton of their users are technical minded and support third party clients, YouTube does not have that kind of userbase and will not get backlash for it), Twitter doing whatever the fuck they’re doing, and...

SSUPII,

It WILL break legacy and underpowered devices, so its likely they won’t at least not too soon. Those apps rely on the files hosted on the googlevideo servers, and most that are used are meant for legacy browsers.

SSUPII,

For the most used services, legacy support is actually respected by Google.

Google Search still works on Internet Explorer 6 for Windows 98 and XP. https://betawiki.net/images/4/46/InternetExplorer6.png

SSUPII,

Can anyone explain Windowed Widgets to me? I don’t know if I used it or not.

SSUPII,

Actually very cool! Unfortunate that some people used them wrongly.

SSUPII,

Am I wrong of this is a massive trend with companies developing AI backends?

They release a previous version, free and open source. Then make a next version completely locked down. Do they event want progress?

SSUPII,

Actually did not know this

SSUPII, (edited )

Isn’t Chromium/Blink a fork of WebKit?

SSUPII,

Lots of them are likely leftover points due to the deprecation of awards.

SSUPII,

With “Friends and Family” they get 100% unless converted

SSUPII,

Because the owner wants a bland social media with no soul.

SSUPII,

In my country Paypay doesn’t tax when doing Friends and Family transactions, but do when you are sending to an account from another country

SSUPII,

Isn’t like that anywhere really? Paypal applies a hard limit on the max amount to send via Friends and Family, needing you to use the taxed other method where it becomes pretty much a bank transaction. For exchanging big sums in general the only real choice is a bank transfer with your real cards.

SSUPII,

Doesn’t Reddit already have NFT avatars?

SSUPII,

If you ever receive gold or higher you get some coins + premium membership for some days. I don’t know if it is still applies.

SSUPII,

That should be specified some law in each of our countries that specify the amount you can do as independent before its going to be taxed.

SSUPII,

Yeah, I meant fees there.

SSUPII,

To be honest I am extremely happy with my N3DS and Steam Deck. The second can let me change between a 40 years old game in a game released last month in a few seconds.

SSUPII,

Not really. Android has been doing great in terms of emulation.

SSUPII,

Finally I can say. On big screen the Play Store was getting worse and worse to navigate properly on tablets.

SSUPII,

Nonocross - a nonogram puzzles app with some default boards and a very simple design.

Pekka Kana 2 - an old wacky 2D platform with you commanding a rooster going from start to finish of every level.

SuperTuxKart - a classic by now, a complete parody of the original Crash Team Racing with characters being mascots from various projects and important elements of the Linux ecosystem.

(not on F-Droid) OpenRCT2 - a re implementation of the Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 engine. Free and open source, but requires the game’s files.

SSUPII,

Can you already wishlist it on Steam?

SSUPII, (edited )

Please count the reasons for these incarcerations.

SSUPII,

Yeah. Not because of dissent, unlike how the comments of the user I replied to tried to imply

SSUPII,

Well there is a chance that is going to change.

SSUPII,

I have read here on Lemmy someone claim this is all political and just 4D chess to own the libs.

SSUPII,

Yup. Owned personally since 2017. It was his also around 2000, but he got kicked out and the domain was then owned by Paypal.

SSUPII,

Looks like a Frightfur extra deck card from YuGiOh

SSUPII,

Because we really aren’t. Our brains are probably still naturally wired for small communities and villages.

SSUPII,

The bankruptcy situation was mentioning the article.

Of course, when it comes to commercial products they will eventually be discontinued. But as long as a good replacement plan is done, like you could get the newer model much cheaper by turning in your older generation one, it will not be too much of an issue for the ones who need it.

When its actually fair to discontinue such essential products for some its debatable.

SSUPII,

In the case of most honestly. Most electronics that have smart features aren’t extremely tied to them, as they just work without an internet connection/offline. The ones that do usually are advertised as reliant on apps at least where I live.
