Palo Alto Embraces A Community-Owned Multi-Gigabit Broadband Network After Decades Of Talk (www.techdirt.com)

For all of the hype Silicon Valley gets as the birthplace of American technological innovation, the broadband networks in cities like Palo Alto have never kept pace. Like most towns and cities across the U.S., Palo Alto residents have long complained about the slow speeds, high prices, and comically terrible customer service...

I'd like to thank my friend Jake for making sure that the last hour of my day was spent explaining offset ILS approaches with Google Maps and drawing colorful lines in Paint.net.

Conveniently realised that explaining electronic components at a psychologist's appointment probably wasn't socially appropriate only right after I walked out lmaooo

    Osirus,

I mean it doesn’t matter to me what you are, sorry about that. But sexual attraction is like 90 percent visual. I just don’t think it’s plausible unless you are 70 years old. Dating is a shallow act. That’s just how it all starts unfortunately.

Thought this video would be useful to folks throughout the Fediverse. How to Post from Mastodon to Lemmy and Kbin.

Testing this method on posting to Kbin from Mastodon shows that the post will appear in the Microblog section when you:

    @[community name]@kbin.social

Hashtag additions to magazines/communities on kbin are inconsistently publishing at the moment, so if you want to make sure your post gets published, use this method.

For those wishing to publish on the 13th Floor Microblog, include the following in your mastodon / pixelfed / tweet style post:

    @[email protected]

...and it should appear here. Please feel free to @ me if you have trouble.

Adding some tags as I'd like to appear for folks following the @13thFloor, as well as those creatives who are looking to expand their audience.

I finally found some way to empathize with you folks out there who crave pumpkin spice coffees. My local breakfast place has Kahlua Creme coffee and I would fight for it.

WHAT CAN I DO TO STOP HAVING SO MUCH WASTE. I want to do the best I can to recycle. My apartment complex does not have a recycling bin, I reuse plastic bags, and im starting to transition to using tote bags in grocery stores. Any advice?

I also have two cats so im looking for options for that as well. Thank you.

I still don't get this part of kbin. Anyway, I hope you are having a great day.

    Phanatik,

@BeardedPip It's what links with Mastodon. If you go to a community's Microblog page, you'll see a bunch of posts that you can trace back to Mastodon. How it shows up in that community is because the community looks for certain . If a Mastodon post has that and the community is accepting it, then that post will show up in the Microblog for that community.

    Pons_Aelius,

SEO reminds me of regular gamblers. They all have a system but you will only ever hear about the wins, never the losses.

When they win, the system is the reason. When they lose, something other than the system is at fault. In the case of SEO, "the client didn't implement hard/well enough".

Blocking any domain seems to make certain stuff disappear (kbin.social)

I moderate @mcsuggestions, and today, I noticed that my comments on the two most recent threads didn't show up when I was logged in. After some experimentation, I figured out that whenever I had any domain blocked, all comments on those threads disappeared. From what I can tell in this magazine, others are experiencing the same...

This seems to be a popular topic today, I imagine it must be getting worse for kbin.social users (the errors when posting threads / images, if it is that)

I made this issue for what you described https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019

@ernest sorry to ping you but just want to make sure you're aware of this as the last ~4+ posts to this magazine have been about this issue

    What is this microblog for?

    Nemo,

You’re actually on the ranked-threaded-discussion part of the site, ie. the part that acts like reddit and federates with lemmy.
