For me, it was a matter of how much I liked my coworkers. Technically I had a small office but we all (except HR and group exec) worked from open cubes, had plenty of huddle rooms, and those of us assigned offices left them free for all to use as huddle rooms or group call rooms.
It was just a good atmosphere. Hybrid model. Ping pong an hour a day, which near everyone participated in. And tea time we all took very seriously.
Covid and acquisition, in no particular order, made that office go away. I’m remote now, and have been for years. I would go back there in a heartbeat.
Random rant. But miss that crew. We still meet for a beer once in a while, though I’m no longer working there and a lot of us moved out of state. Virtual happy hour is actually fun when you like the people on there.
No impact really. We started from Marrakech, which had most impact. Skipped Atlas mountains because that was epicenter. Rest are all impacted. Most impact to tourism seems to be from Israel activities in Gaza.
I’ve seen a few Sanskrit ones. Nothing drastic in real life, thankfully. I find the Chinese ones much more hilarious.
Had a friend in college legit get ancient Chinese calligraphy. Absolutely beautiful. But my international center buddy told me separately it just meant window. It was supposed to be this heavenly view or some such thing. No. It was window.

A rational view is much appreciated. Though I’m usually calm, sometimes the urge to go *Pitchfork!" gets to us all. This was my moment until I saw your top comment.
I’m not saying this for all instances. Maybe I’ve been fortunate. 100% of project managers I’ve worked alongside looked for parallel paths, and that’s their job. But once the feedback from tech SME is that these are linear dependencies, they said okay. Let’s move to discuss how to communicate this to leadership and customer.
My personal experience. Your mileage obviously may vary greatly. But a PM that doesn’t understand the mythical man month, isn’t much of a PM. Or even a competent team member.
