Mister,

I don’t think all HOAs are bad. If you want your neighborhood looking uniform and always kept up then HOA is the only way to go. I don’t like another layer of bureaucracy but I can see why some people do.

Mister,

Thank you for bringing this to lemmy!

Mister,

Early days of Reddit most niche subs were empty too tbh

Mister,

I would dual boot windows (I know) and install iTunes from there. I never was able to figure out a way to sync music from Linux.

Mister,

Your microclimate will also be a factor in this. I would just go for it and see what happens. May work some years, not work for others.

One trick I’ve seen is to take black barrels and fill them with water. They will act as a heat sync during the day inside your greenhouse and give off heat at night when it’s cooler.

Mister,

My most expensive food group is meat for sure. Beef has gone down a little bit in price but it’s still much higher than 4 years ago.

Mister,

For open source alternatives there is Map.me and Organic Maps.

Mister,

Isn’t this it right here?

github.com/mapsme/omim

Mister,

Well that’s bittersweet. I did not realize it had been sold. At least it was forked though. Thanks for pointing that out!

Mister,

Because there isn’t a good alternative to red meat?

Mister,

Those are junk. Not healthy at all.

Mister,

You can’t get the same amount of amino acids that you can with meat without consuming 1000s of excess calories.

Also iron from plants is hardly bioavailable.

Mister,

No it’s not lol

Mister,

Excessive red meat you mean? Same goes for excessive fried potatoes. Everything in moderation

Mister,

Agreed. I’ve used the same leather wallet for 13 years and it’s still going strong. Not sure how cheap plastic that needs to be replaced every few months is better for the environment.

Mister,

More for me then. :)

Mister,

I can’t get the iron I need from plants alone. Plant-based iron has very low bioavailability. I will always eat meat for health reasons since iron deficiency runs in my family.

Mister,

I tried it, that stuff runs right through me. It’s highly processed junk.

Mister,

So is glyphosate which is used to grow many plant based food crops.

Hot beverages are another that have the same classification.

Mister,

You should do a blood test with your doctor, for science!

Mister,

Isn’t plastic production polluting as well?

Mister,

Last year a plumber charged me about $300 to have a shut off valve replaced. Took him about an hour.

Mister,

It’s been 90 degree days for the past 3 months.

Mister,

It’s a Swedish kayak too. 😂🤣

Mister,

If I catch a fish I eat it. I put the organs and remaining carcass in my garden to fertilize it. Not a huge fan of catch and release. Relax.

Mister,

I do this too. I try to pay bills annually as well. It makes it much more tempting to go with a cheaper plan.

Mister,

What do you think about torching weeds?

Mister,

I think adding basic advice, “How do I apply for a credit card”, etc would be helpful and something that people can link back to in the future.

[Solved] First time owner: How do I find someone to conduct a "4-point inspection" for home insurance change?

Geico is offering me an amazing deal on home insurance compared to my current insurance provider. They said I need a “4-point inspection” to get the policy. The guy I used for the purchase was through word-of-mouth, but he’s not doing them anymore. I’ve asked around, but no one I know has any recommendations. How do I...

Mister,

The insurance company has always sent one out for me. I would maybe try asking an insurance broker

Mister,

Glad you were able to get it figured out! Insurance can be difficult

Mister,

Until you get a phone call 🤣🤣

Mister,

Try to limit that kind of negative news to once a week. You’ll still be informed but things you can’t change won’t be so much at the center of your mind.
