While it depends on a number of variables; such as your own personal preferences and quality of the audio hardware you’re using; FLAC is indeed better. Given appropriate tuning and hardware, you don’t need a trained ear to hear the difference.

It is however possible to prefer compressed music. In fact, I myself tend to be fine with anything down to 128kbps MP3 or comparable compression. That doesn’t mean I do not notice it; but it’s “tolerable” in quality. I grew up around the late stages of Analog FM radio; so anything that can manage to sound better than THAT is actually good! For reference you were lucky to pick up what is equivalent to a 96kbps MP3 if you had optimal signal strength and things very quickly devolved to a staticky 8kbps experience if you had very minimal signal.

For storing music on-the-go; I actually recommend considering 192kbps MP3 if you don’t mind the “Lossy” sound and just wanna cram as much music as possible onto storage without it sounding absolutely terrible.

If “Lossy” is just not an acceptable option for your tender ears; I recommend Ogg Vorbis (Android & all of it’s variants) at standard bitrates or AAC (Apple) depending on your mobile device OS.

If you’re willing to carry around a limited library/playlist and want to emphasize quality; I can’t recommend FLAC enough.

Let’s see…

The main classic is Lola Bunny from Space Jam (1993). We all know it.

Zootopia anyone? I think all of the characters are!

Some Pokemon examples include greats like;

  • Gardevoir
  • Lopunny
  • Lucario
  • Machamp
  • plus any other human-shape pokemon that I didn’t name

MEGA itself does respond to valid DMCA notices; just as an FYI. I don’t consider MEGA to be all that copyright resistant.

However; it’s likely to be usable if long lived links were zippped using a specific password to encrypt. It’s either that and/or links be ephemerally generated for a week at a time for requests.

The billionaire tears are so refreshing to drink from this article yes...quite a fine vintage.

I suspect the "reasons" are never going to be discussed; probably to prevent the same billionaires from money-ing their way out of this as well. Fortunately in countries like that; the Harbormaster's word IS LAW.

I suspect they simply don't want these sorts of luxury yachts clogging up the ports anyways and would rather that they anchor at a nearby port that is better equipped for them and use their smaller craft to visit Naples.

I could see how large yachts captained by assholes working for billionaires could be a safety hazard if they don't behave professionally or ethically in port or manage the expectations of an immature yacht owner.

That's not surprising.

It's irrelevant. I ran that subreddit for 11 years. He did nothing of note beyond requesting the sub and appointing mods. I have no cares about what a scab thinks.

I feel your pain. May you find 10 more friends just as close as the one you lost; who are not transphobic.

Or maybe someday you'll have luck in educating the one you lost. Whatever the outcome; know that you are valid and accepted. Some people just haven't caught up yet.

I hate chromium.

It acts like chrome because IT IS CHROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Minus the obvious branding and proprietary "Google-y bits" Unfortunately it's the same codebase.

At least Firefox at it's core truly differs.

Currently rocking a modern Firefox 113 build with the following privacy enhancing addons:

  • CanvasBlocker - to increase fingerprint resistance
  • Multi-Account Containers - A critical multi-container account plugin
  • I don’t care about cookies - Bypass nag screens about cookies.
  • LocalCDN - A much more functional alternative to Decentraleyes which actually does benefit privacy
  • Temporary Containers - A critical plugin I use to enforce fresh “containers” for certain kinds of browsing. Works with MAC as well; allowing me to isolate critical SNSes and such from just any random old site I visit.
  • TrackMeNot - Search Engine Privacy tool; set on a very slow; non-default interval. This injects some “background noise” of activity into search queries and browsing traffic.
  • uBlock Origin - Absolutely Essential Adblocker. This addon shoulders a large load of the blocking and filtering work.
  • Allow Right-Click - Essential tool to break websites’ habit of interfering with my right to use my browser’s functionality.

Unsupported or "Problematic" Addons- uMatrix - Additional content filtering addon. Equipped with a lightweight hosts list that only affects well known bad acting sites and trackers. Provides a frontline of defense against novel tracking and fingerprinting domains. - ^ Listen; say what you want; I don’t care. This addon is something I always pair with uBlock Origin as it provides an additional safety guard against unforeseeable objects, scripts and other nonsense that may appear on a webpage. I can cherrypick what I believe the website needs to function; while denying access to third party scripts and other objects. I still use it to defend my privacy every day. - WhatCampaign Sorry I couldn’t find a working source link; it seems to be down. - This addon breaks URL tracking breadcrumbs by obfuscating them; which breaks various websites’ attempts at tracking behavior and interferes with websites’ ability to take actions based on URL tracking. - SponsorBlock for Youtube - Like it or not this little addon saves me a ton of time and helps me avoid feeding an algorithm by alerting me to sponsored videos and skipping unwanted commercials in content I consume. Depending on your ethics; you may or may not want this addon. - Privacy Pass - Sometimes you just gotta do something about captchas…This tool can help reduce them while respecting your privacy- Privacy Redirect - [PARTIALLY DISABLED VIA ADDON CONFIGURATION] - Sometimes you just gotta say “Nope!” to a website like Twitter or Google in general and visit a more privacy respecting mirror website. Invidious anyone? (Unfortunately oftentimes these mirror sites are getting sniped and go down frequently for various reasons; making this addon a frequenly frustrating and unreliable one because you have to disable it so often.)
