Its very rare for me to find a bug on Signal. The app has been really stable over the past few years. In the rare occasions when I did come across one in the past, I reported them in the support forum.
I'm looking for recommendations. I usually use Overdrive with books I've downloaded (I think in the epub format). But now I hear that Overdrive is no longer being supported (I think the company wants people to use their Libby app instead). I'm hoping to find something open source and privacy minded. Also not wild about what...
A former convict who fought in Vladimir Putin’s war went on to kill six people with an accomplice after being freed from prison, police in Russia claim. People in Russia have raised concerns over former convict fighters in the war being rewarded by Putin.
Oh that's my bad. I never actually realised that they are no longer open source. Am I being downvoted in lemmy.ml? If yes, then I have no idea why and don't really care lol. I would happily support each of the projects I mentioned.

If I use WhatsApp Web, will Meta be able to see the contents of my WhatsApp messages?

From the author: My next book is The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation: it’s a Big Tech disassembly manual that explains how to disenshittify the web and bring back the old good internet. The hardcover comes from Verso on Sept 5, but the audiobook comes from me – because Amazon refuses to sell my audio.
Amazon carries poorly written smut, they are not big on quality control. And you really need to look up the definition of trash, if you think what he writes is trash.
Elon Musk's X alleged the Center for Countering Digital Hate violated its terms of service in a bid to scare away advertisers and harm the company financially.
If the accusations against him were really false, the accusers deserve to be in jail considering the amount of damage they did to his career and his reputation.
Yeah, we need to see more details. The allegations against him were serious. This was a spot copy so is understandably sparse on details. I guess we will see more in depth stories being published by tomorrow.
