@knitting as promised, this is the cowl for Husbeast.The yarn is called Arrakis and is inspired by Dune, so has some sparkle to it and he requested the YO pattern I used for a previous cowl. I kind of muffed up the first slant section because I should have done k2tog not ssk but I can’t be arsed to reknit it. He won’t care so I’m going to let it go. Especially because I want it done by next Friday 😂😂😂

@knitting This is my in a solar system inspired colourway. It’s really unwieldy but I’m so close to finishing. These are the skeins for Pluto in the order I want to knit them in. I’m at the final chevron section and I think I might have more yarn than I need so I’m thinking about how I might finish the edge. Oh and it’s an icord edge. 😂

@knitting Knitting is amazing. When I was knitting my Slipstravaganza blanket before, I was starting to find the sheer quantity of stitches tiresome. Endless purl felt like a slog. After months of brioche, it now feels joyful. 😂

@knitting This is the first WIP I have with me this evening that I’m hoping to finish. This is a granny square that was made from the leftovers of my Triple Advent blanket that I’ve decided to add an icord edge to. I’ve got just under 2 edges left.

My new Must Stash yarn arrived yesterday. I have Plans of things to try with it. That said, those plans are on hold until I finish the socks I am currently working on and probably until I also finish the Advent shawl. Excited but don’t want to lose momentum on my current efforts. @knitting @fiberarts

And they are done! My second bonus project, colorblock camp socks from Ozetta with bonus contrast toe. These worsted socks probably won’t fit in my shoes but they’ll work in boots and be good around the house. The Icelandic yarn has an interesting texture. I hope it softens up with a soak. I need to remember these are non-superwash or I’m going to end up with felted baby slippers instead of adult socks ;) @knitting @fiberarts

Having to sell the sweaters at wholesale prices to shops that mark up the retail cost by hundreds of dollars has led to an initiative called Knit With Purpose to deal direct with buyers and give knitters a fair wage for their time and expertise.

I haven’t posted much knitting and I realized that’s because I didn’t want to post pics I thought were too repetitive (left slipper and then right slipper) so I thought I’d wait till I was done and then I decided, hey, that’s silly. So here are some progress pics from the Scandinavian snowflake slippers. Both feet completed; stitches picked up and waste yarn snipped for cuff; one cuff complete and working on second cuff. #knitting #FiberArts @knitting @fiberarts #handmade

@eyrea @knitting Thank you very much. I can't lie, I didn't pick the colours. They are from 3 different advent calendars. If you read the blanket across, it shows the different combinations front and back and if you read the blanket top to bottom it's the days (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 etc) for each combination. Does that make sense? It's basically yarn and recreational maths.

I know, I know l, I said I was going to skip a yarn advent this year… but then The Blue Brick came out with a mood board I love. AND instead of 24 days of fingering plus a full skein, it’s 12 days of DK “minis” and a full skein. 12 days of DK seems so much more manageable even if it is something like 2000 yds total. @KarenStrickholm @knitting it’s actually a really lovely technique although you knit every row twice so it takes bloody ages! I deliberately designed my Triple Advent blanket to use brioche so I could make mistakes and learn how to fix them in a low stakes way. Go on. Give it a go! 😉

@knitting We’ve had an amazing time on Skye. We’ve eaten beautiful food, found inspiring art and relaxed even deeper into our holiday. Today we went to a tannery (one of only two left in the UK that do everything by hand) and we came away with a sheep hide.

@knitting Then we were driving along and saw a sign for a “handspun yarn and knitted items”. So we went in. I drive, I decide where we stop. We stopped in an amazing crofter’s studio and I ended up as a demonstrator showing how drop spindling worked. I’m feeling incredibly inspired.

@knitting The cardigan for Husbeast has been put in the naughty corner prior to me frogging it. Everything is fine. It fits, Husbeast is happy. I realised that I don't have enough yarn for the buttonholes as planned. That's ok because there is a lovely border edge it just doesn't have any holes in it for buttons. So I'm going to take it with me when we go to Scotland.
