FerNZA,

It is fine that you don’t like it. I don’t really think you will get downvoted for it. I also don’t like LD as much as other people but I think it is fine.

There are many other trek things that I don’t like as much as other people, but in the end there are different parts of ST that resonates with different people.

The thing I like about ST is how realistic somethings from back in the day are. I also like the more serious tone of things, but I think with the popularity of things like the Orville etc you can see that a big part of the fandom was looking for something more light hearted.

Just tell your co-worker that LD is just not for you. I am sure he will understand.

FerNZA,

I won’t dislike your post, but I generally don’t like it.

What does that emoji at the end of your post mean. Are you physically crying. Is it symbolic to mean you are unhappy or sad or disheartened or something else that I couldn’t think of.

Now imagine if you do a string of those and me trying to figure it out.

I mean with keyboards now, it is probably faster swiping out the phrase :”This saddens me” than that emoji.

FerNZA,

Part of the 2040 plan. I saw a video on youtube of the planned extension that would be a lot more rail, but I don’t know if that is still coming.

FerNZA,

I am tempted to update to test out the journal app.

Wonder if it will be able to import journal entries from other apps.

Apple has the potential of creating a fuller detailing experience, but it probably won’t be there just yet.

FerNZA,

I just updated to the Beta and tried it out for about 30 minutes.

The reflections is quite nice because of it’s probing nature. And if you just want to dump in your thoughts it will be good as well and you can add the auto generated memories from photos in there if you want.

But I suspect that the other two apps that you used will have much more functionality than this currently. I used Diaro and it has many features in there that I would still want the journal app to add.

FerNZA,

I also don’t like ad-filled apps, that is why I normally buy my apps.

I have used Diaro before and it was quite good. It could save your entries in iCloud or Dropbox and have apps for almost all platforms. I have also heard good things about Day One.

I played with the app for a bit and I think it is good enough to start with. If you don’t have the baggage of trying to import from a different app I think it should be good to go from the get go.

I would have liked it if it could have shown my memories on a map and I could go look at my entries at a specific place etc. It currently only filters on if things are there. Not on the details of what is inside of those things.

But I think it is a good place to start from regardless. And the ability to share things directly with the journal is quite nice. I have already done it with some of the memories generated with the photos app, so I would assume anything can be shared with it.

FerNZA,

Yes, it is very minimal.

I can’t get my workouts in there yet. It is all just put on a stack that can be sorted by time. And you can filter if it has some type of attachments.

You also can’t have different journals for different things as far as I can see.

And yes, this should be an easy port to macOS and iPadOS. Would be nice if you can put in hand written notes.

FerNZA,

Me too, that was the biggest thing I have been waiting for. Well that and some homekit things. I have been trying to get more info about the journal app but nothing more that was in the presentation.

FerNZA,

I watched this whole thing yesterday and this morning (my time) when it dropped, didn’t do the challenges though. This is 3 hours long though, but it breaks down the show quite well.

Where I am from Fringe was always popular, at least when I was still at uni.

I rewatch the show every few years or so. It is still one of my favourites

FerNZA,

I was bedridden for the weekend when it came out. I tried the anime about 20ish years ago, but I decided to stick with Naruto instead and didn’t give it any further thought.

I watched it in one sitting and really enjoyed it. I think after Rurouni Kenshin movies, this is my favourite live action anime adaption.

Your thoughts on The Orville? (lemmy.world)

When I first started this show I found it to be a really awkward mix of comedy and seriousness. It had some jokes thrown it at the most inopportune times as some kind of comic relief from a really serious situation. Perhaps the first half of the first season was actually a bit rough or maybe the show just grew on me, but by...

FerNZA,

I stopped after watching a few episodes. I guess it just wasn’t for me. Most people I know like it though.

What are you Reading? (August 2023) (lemmy.world)

I’ve put together a collage of some books from last months What are you Reading? post. It’s mostly random, but the more discussion something gets the more it stands out to me. Going forward I’m going to make a new post every month to talk about what people are reading....

FerNZA,

Just finished Hyperion so I guess that will be soon for me. Might read something else in between first though
