When it comes to grammar and syntax it makes sense though. Common rules help us understand each other.

Except that we're talking about individual words here. It's not as if we're saying verbs are over now or that all sentences have to be all "Shaka, when the walls fell" or something.

You could have made that point without being rude towards the entirety of the STEM community, but chose not to.

It's there. To paraphrase Anton Ego though, new things need people to stick up for them. So if you see a new story, go see it and tell your friends. Everything Everywhere All At Once is a great example. Amazing movie, and it's stuck with me.

Dude I am 100% certain you replied to the wrong guy, because the only 40k stories I've read are Caiphas Cain books (which are pretty funny and entertaining).

Not really into grimdark though; when positive change is impossible I tend to check out and lose interest in the story.

Pfff, nah. What's holding the IP back is that the goddamn story is a mess.

The entire thing needs a reboot using the original 3 as an anchor. The prequels are meme garbage; I watched them in theaters (or more accurately, the first one because I gave up after that). I will die on this hill, don't bother arguing with me. The sequels got JJ Abramsed into lens flare oblivion because that goober can't tell a coherent story to save his life.

There was some good EU content but there was also the Yuuzhan Vong invasion so maybe we calm it down a bit. By all means keep the Rogue and Wraith squadron stuff, maybe Corran Horn's storyline. We need not speak of Kyp whatshisname. Mara Jade was amazing and should exist.

One story thread that needs resolution and examination is the nature of the light and dark sides of the forcee. As is they're basically Buddhism with the serial numbers filed off and respectfully, NAH. Let's explore the unifying force ideas; make the nature of someone's character about intentions and actions and not just emotions. We need to make peace with the idea that SW is a space fantasy, not a hard sci-fi show and just learn to be ok with that.

tldr; We need a single, competent vision behind the story and we need to make some potentially polarizing decisions instead of trying to please everyone and ending up pleasing nobody.

I mean we do it all the time in comics, anime, and other mediums. There's no reason Star Wars has to be a special snowflake. And let's be honest ... Lucas has good ideas but has always been bad at story. The originals only worked because his ex-wife edited it into something halfway coherent.

But yeah, it might be worth letting the mainline series fade into the past.

Mending fixes a single tear or break in an object. No way should that work on a head that's been splattered halfway across the Sword Coast.

And if you can't find all the pieces, what then? And even if you did, assuming a human skull is an "object" (which I dispute), there will certainly be more than a single tear or break. So what, is each pair of puzzle pieces now an object you can cast mend on?

I don't think that matches the intention of the spell at all.

Although CSI Faerun would be kinda fun, so maybe I'd allow it.

The truly horrifying combo is Battlemaster+Gloomstalker+Thief with a couple specific hand crossbows and the sharpshooter feat. All that Dex + 15 AC from Yuan-Ti scale mail they sell at last light means 4 attacks per round each and 20+ AC.

Oh, and stealth, and lockpicking. Astarion? Never heard of him.

Had to use a bonus action for something? Then you've got battlemaster ranged moves to fear, trip, or disarm. It's disgusting.

Sean Bean also voices most of Civ 6 and it's glorious. Say what you will about it from a mechanical perspective but I can't find fault with his voice lines. He gets to read some of the greatest quotations from history and for the most part he nails it.

Christians are a diverse bunch. I've seen people claiming the label who do and do not believe the Bible is inerrant or sometimes even inspired. I've seen people who claim the label practice rituals that look very similar to what some Wiccans do.

The reality though is that every Christian picks and chooses. People should be held responsible for how they behave, not the labels they claim or the trauma you've incurred by people claiming that label.

I understand why so many take issue with right wing American evangelicals who can't even manage to align with Jesus himself, but the bigotry I've seen today is just depressing.

I fully support a woman's right to choose without conditions because I believe it's wrong to require that someone keep someone else alive with their own body. It removes that person's agency and reduces them to less than a person. We can't require that people donate organs after they die, so we obviously can't require that they host another person against their will.

A person should have more rights and protections than a corpse. Obviously.
