@luckytran "The NYPD said Seldowitz was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the incident and charged with a hate crime along with aggravated harassment and stalking. Attorney information for Seldowitz was not immediately available."

I hope the food truck guy feels some measure of safety. I'm glad he's in a good community.

There's video of him being arrested, he still has that smile painted on his face.

A lot of the never Trumpers at the beginning changed their stances so quickly at the beginning that I really wonder what happened behind the scenes. There was no rational explanation for the flips.

A good news story.

'The University of Toronto is the latest Canadian university to announce it’ll be covering tuition for First Nation students whose community’s traditional territory is on or near campus. This move is...popping up across Canada and the U.S...University of Waterloo and Kwantlen Polytechnic University made similar announcements.'

It can be seen as 'an act of meaningful reconciliation.'

There will never be one solution and much will depend on the individual's active pursuit at healing.

And I can't now. But I can still shout about it here. Every teacher in every type of context should read "I Heard What You Said" by Jeffrey Boakye - about being a black teacher in the UK. Seeing their attempts at indoctrination fail to take hold the indoctrinated can only imagine they have been stymied by some equal and opposite form of indoctrination. That we might be sincere about creating the space for each young person to find their own way, to make up their own mind is impossible from their perspective.

That we wait on the outcomes of experiments and study to determine what is best? Just a lie.

@futurebird @darnell @bertwells I read something from a child expert once: If you want to spoil a child, hit it.

Kids need safe places to grow up and make mistakes. Hitting teaches kids a lot of wrong things. If your neighbour is an ass and won't listen, is it ok to go up and smack them? Assault is never a solution and creates more problems than it solves. With kids, you are affecting their confidence, self esteem, ability to learn how to problem solve and learn from mistakes.

He is also raising the "federal officer removal" doctrine, which is no surprise given that he was a lawyer with the DOJ.

He is also furious!! He had no idea he was being investigated until he was indicted. He is calling it a political "hit job" and says the goal was to "cost him millions in legal fees, impair his work in the conservative legal community" and "tarnish his previously stellar reputation."

@autism101 @actuallyautistic the most effective communication with regards to the sender is finding out what that person responds to, regardless of the discomfort. Phone, email, or text, people all seem to have a preference. Try to contact outside of that, you have to resign yourself to a slow or no response. You have no idea what the other person is dealing with.

If it's close friends and family, hopefully they can be accommodating.

@jerry Someone posted that it's against the App Store policy, people must be permitted to block, so he'll back down because he just throws stuff out to see what sticks or the app will be removed from the App Store.

This has mostly been reported as "trans women banned from women's chess" but it's much more sinister. (as if it weren't already.)

ALL trans people are targeted by this ruling. Trans men will be stripped of all chess titles won, which can only be returned to them by “changing the gender back to a woman” (from the ICF’s ruling). ALL transgender chess players will be marked as trans in their files.

If you play or know anyone who does take a stand on this. It's ugly.

I realized they don't want to reduce the need to abort (sex-ed, access to contraception, access to life-saving health care for women), they want girls and women pregnant and forced to deliver or die for a baby market.

With outdoor photography, you can only plan. What you get is completely at the whim of Mother Nature. We were staying with a friend about 20 min from Peggy's Cove, NS. We wanted sunrise images at Peggy's Cove, so got up before sunrise, left under clear skies, and drove into fog so thick we could barely see. Peggy's Cove was a whiteout. But we wandered about and after sunrise, the fog began to lift. We didn't get magic light, but magic was still there.
