They only way I sync my 2FA codes is in an encrypted json to my own hard drive via a sync app to my NAS.
Can it be exploited? Certainly.
Will I be a target at home? Probably not. More likely at work.

I would argue such big companies could be trusted to some extend with storing stuff securely.
You don’t hear much of a data breach from Google.

I use OpenOffice and Libre Office on the regular at work.

Why even keep it on?
My first two actions with a new phone are turning off haptic feedback and tap sounds. Don’t need that annoying shit.

With PLEX blocking Hetzner Hosting, I'm thinking of Moving to Jellyfin, but I have some questions.

I use Hetzner as a seedbox and then have PLEX as my media server ran on the same hardware. It’s worked perfectly fine for years. But recently PLEX says they will be blocking Hetzner hosting in the next few weeks. I’ve been considering moving to Jellyfin for a while, but I’m worried they will do the same thing in future....

Jellyfin: Completely autonomous of anything outside.
Plex: Authenticates with Plex servers so you need an external account

Jellyfin is a fully self-sufficient software not calling outside.

I just checked the page for my own ip, my past seedbox IP and my current seedbox IP

My current (dynamic) ISP IP: No downloads. Makes sense, as I do not have torrenting.
My historic seedbox IP: No downloads. Strange but the website claims it tracks the DHT protocol and I am pretty sure I rarely used DHT for my torrents back then
My current seedbox IP: Multiple downloads from today about me supposedly downloading XXX stuff amd various kinds of games and movies.

The site doesn’t know all shit or at least not maps it to the correct IP. I am not interested in torrenting porn anyway and if, I would probably not download it from DHT and more likely be around private trackers
I don’t torrent games ever. The only pieces of software I did are photoshop and illustrator and switch games.
Is my seedbox hacked? Not impossible. I found an open seedbox FTP connection on shodan and have the power to connect to the FTP share. Is kind of interesting to see what others download.

I believe (my) seedbox IP is unique. Else private trackers would certainly throw a fit because of shared accounts due to IPs.

I will ask my hoster. Seems interesting.

You can hide malware in EXIF metadata.

Utilizes Musicbrainz.
If it ain’t in their database, you can add it yourself and just need to wait 7 days ubtil it’s published.

Edit: I noticed it’s about personal recordings? In that case I am not really sure.

Just today I tried to understand the backup principle behind Veeam with my senior.
After that I (soft) bricked my head trying to visualize the GFS principle.
Lol that was fun.

But then I remembered someone imagined the whole backup cycle and not only invent it but the dev team needed have so much knowledge to not only adapt it into software but that it’s considered beyond business critical software.
In Germany we have the saying “Kein Backup, kein Mitleid” (No backup, no pity) and we literally just hope the software does as it’s told to do.
Even if we test backups it’s crazy how we rely on it.

So habe ich es auch gelesen. Wird in den Metadaten versteckt was z.B. Photoshop für die Bildverarbeitung ausliest.

Meist werden Bilder aber eh formatiert beiden großen Plattformen.

I’m looking for a YR-DLP GUI for just music, or a good way to access music in general. I had a lidarr-on-steroids instance running but it kept disconnecting from deezer and i’d love to get that back up and running but it looks like it’s not supported any more. Yt-dlp looks like a decent enough plan B, but i’m open to...
