There is no perfect system, textbook wonderland communism has lots of flaws too. In my ideal world it should be a mix of everything. Communal gardens or hobby workshops are great, communal workplaces not so much. I mean, people should be allowed to get rich if they can do it without abusing others. You should be able to start and grow your company, and get paid for it accordingly.

So russia has mandatory military training, each year a certain number of men are called, this has been happening for many years, it’s just standard boot camp. Shoigu assured everyone that this year’s conscripts won’t have to go to Ukraine, training will be done as usual (on russian territory only) and then they can go home.

Renewable power is now a huge business too, naturally there are corporations which will happily lobby and shill about it. Looks like you’re doing exactly that, claiming that wind and solar is without faults and basically a miracle.

The most basic proof of that: wind power isn’t safer. Way more people and animals are harmed by it than by nuclear.

Chernobyl was a freak incident and it happened fourty years ago. We don’t build reactors like that anymore. Don’t use it as an example of something that happens all the time.

Meanwhile, wind turbines do fail, sometimes they catch on fire, sometimes while a worker is doing maintenance up top.

Don’t get me wrong, renewable power is wonderful and solar is really catching up but it’s not a miracle and they’ll never entirely replace other energy sources. There’s always a base load that needs to be satisfied, and nuclear is the cleanest, safest way to do it. It’s even safer than lithium batteries.

Ok, and what’s your point? Some people don’t get the same opportunities, therefore they should all move to countries which are doing well? What are they going to do once they arrive? Most of them are uneducated, don’t know the language and don’t have any valuable skills. How are they going to survive in these crowded, overpriced cities?

They can’t all live on welfare payments.

That’s why I support helping their home countries develop, funding education and healthcare, sharing agricultural and manufacturing knowledge. It’ll be better for everyone if they turn their poor countries into developed economies.
