13esq,

Unpopular opinion - The ads aren’t that long and content creators deserve to get paid.

I know that doesn’t answer your question but I don’t think a few seconds of ads is worth leaving a platform over.

13esq,

The most successful and richest people very rarely get in to the positions they are in because of how kind and philanthropic they are.

Of course there are exceptions, but the capitalist society that we live almost demands a selfish, “me first” mindset.

13esq,

No fap is retarded, but watching less porn isn’t. You can do pretty much anything you can imagine to excess.

13esq, (edited )

I’ve been learning Scots gaidhlig which has some really great ones:

As happy as a mouse in a loaf (really happy)

As happy as a shoe (not happy at all)

As fat as a seal (very fat)

As full as an egg (couldn’t be fuller)

As wet as a cormorant (soaked)

As bald as a shinty ball (hairless)

There are many others.

13esq,

Big amps sounds scary, but 100mA can be lethal and it’s all the same for any current above that. Big voltages are what you need to be scared of.

13esq,

Normie: “Oh, nuggies.” Goes back working fries

Autist: goes back to working fries, trying not to cry, thinking “socially, I’ll never recover from this, harikiri is my only option”

13esq,

You can get wireless earbuds for $20, they don’t have to be the top of the range apple ones.

13esq,

It’s going to be a shock to all the fiat 500, vauxhall corsa and ford Ka owners!

13esq,

In Scotland, I rented a one bed detached house with a big garden and a sea view for £300pcm haha.

Oh aye, everything is better in Scotland!

13esq,

I played several times.

My favourite move set was bulbasaur.

13esq,

Yep, that’s the trick. Not everyone is a blagger, but most people are!

I’d say 5% or less of people I’ve met are actually excelling in their lives/careers, 90% of people I know are just doing the bare minimum or are just lucky enough to scrape by and the remaining 5% are the people that don’t give a fuck.

Genetically, we are cavemen, trying to navigate our lives through a modern society that has extremely little resemblance to the savannah that we evolved on, don’t let imposter syndrome get you down!

13esq,

only some people will admit it

Boomer: I worked really hard for my house and final salary pension!

Gen Y: Sure, Dad. That’s why our rent costs £1300pm and pensions are all defined contribution now, because we don’t work hard!

13esq,

The real mind fuck for me was the realisation that we’re all just blobs of genetics navigating ourselves through a cold and uncaring universe and that free will is an illusion.

People hate the idea that they’re not in control of their destinies.

13esq,

It’s a classic mix of uppers/downers. Surely you’ve heard of popular mixes like vodka and red bull?

The alcohol fucks you up but it also makes you slower and more tired, that’s where the caffeine comes in.

For me personally it can lead to getting blackout drunk, it’s as if the brain has switched off but the body just keeps on going, which is usually followed by regret the next day.

13esq,

This certainly sounds feasible. It’s such a shame for him.

I wonder if there is a way to help him with this or if it’s something that will hopefully get better with time.

13esq,

Thanks for the advice

13esq,

Yh, he has definitely been improving in his short time here.

I’ve had cats my whole life so I kind of feel like I’m already used to him so I have to keep reminding myself that everything here is very new to him.

13esq,

Thanks for sharing. I’m glad your cat is better now!

13esq,

I’m trying!

13esq,

Well yeah, is it not what an innocent person would also say?

In a democracy, the premise of “innocent until proven guilty” is quite important and I’m wary of a trial by social media.

If he’s found guilty then he’ll get whatever is coming to him, but I’m not going to cast aspersions until that time.

13esq,

It gives a +3 intimidation bonus and a 20% chance of inflicting confusion.

13esq,

There is a good reason.

People can picture one ton in their heads, no one can picture one million grams.

You can imagine a ton bag of sand, you can’t imagine one million individual grains of sand that weigh one gram each.

The term “megagram” does make perfect sense, but it doesn’t fit well with the way the people experience the universe around them.

13esq,

The sort of personal that insists on calling a ton a megagram is probably going to be the same sort of insufferable Jimmy Neutron arsehole that insists on calling salt “sodium chloride”, yes you’re technically correct, but people experience food as salty and no one is going to say “this food is very sodium chloridy!”

13esq,

If you see an IBC of water, do you see 1m³ or a thousand individual liters?

There’s nothing wrong with describing things the way that you experience them.

13esq,

Have you ever bought a ton of anything?

Did you put it on the scales and make sure that it was exactly one million grams or go, “yh, that looks like it’s about a ton”.?

That’s why the term ton is popular, the term megagram only really makes sense when you need your “ton” to be precisely one million grams.

13esq,

Marketing. It just sounds better. Any other answer is just an excuse.

13esq,

How is it arguably clearer?

It’s only clearer to absolute mongloids that can’t get their head around the idea of “bigger number better!”.

13esq,

Yes, including super rare books that only have one copy remaining.

Why are CEOs still so intent on taking worker attendance? (www.bbc.com)

Google and JPMorgan have each told staff that office attendance will be factored into performance evaluations. The US law firm Davis Polk informed employees that fewer days in the office would result in lower bonuses. And Meta and Amazon both told employees they’re now monitoring badge swipes, with potential consequences for...

13esq,
  1. Control freak management as the article says
  2. The two or three out of a hundred employees that get given an inch and take a mile, ruining it for everyone else that isn’t taking the piss
13esq,

Bengal cats ought to be banned too. They’re wild animals, not domesticated pets.

13esq,

Wrong sub. Surely you’re wondering why your posts always get down voted and no one comments?

13esq,

I’m not familiar, but there is a D&D community that you could try.

13esq,

What a stupid comparison

13esq,

Right.

There’s plenty of billionaires fucking our shit up but so many people seem to have a hate boner exclusively for Musk.

13esq,

I don’t know about that, if anything, I think I have more respect for someone that is openly a cunt than for someone that is a cunt behind my back.

13esq,

I know you’re being fecetious, but there is clearly a difference in using something as a tool for the purpose of killing and accidental road traffic deaths.

13esq,

Semantics

13esq,

That’s absolutely not what I’m saying.

13esq, (edited )

When did I defend them? Please don’t put such vile accusations towards me.

I’m merely saying the situations aren’t comparible. I did NOT say that I condone antisemitism or twitter’s decision on the matter, I literally said that the username was offensive. Jesus Christ.

13esq,

Fucking hell. I DID NOT MAKE THAT CLAIM. YOU ARE PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH AND INCREDIBLY INCENDIARY ONES AT THAT!!!

I’m sorry that you have incorrectly interpreted my claim of two situations being different as defence of one of them. My claim that two situations are not comparable is not synonymous with with the idea that one of them is OK, you have read between the lines when there is nothing there to read.

For the record, I would like to state that I am against antisemitism, nazi propaganda, genocide, “twitter killing people” or whatever this fucking moron is going to accuse me of next.

JFC!

13esq,

You’re a troll

13esq,

That’s a really horrible thing to say

13esq,

Must’ve done a great job of keeping his balls empty and stomach full. JK

Sorry for your loss.
