Ode to middle school.

Cheers to dog-eared, mass market editions passed around by friends, shoved in backpacks, & passed around some more. Until someone’s mom snatches it & tells you that you shouldn’t be reading that trash. Then reads it herself & passes is to her friends 😉

•• My Sweet Audrina is my favorite V.C. Andrews book. Trash or not, this incredibly formulaic author has written some immensely popular books. Creepy, yes. Strange, absolutely. But compared to all the other stuff that’s out there today— I’m not sure many would blink an eye at these books today •• @bookstodon

: and (also rain!) for a lot of leaves on the ground, but still colour to be found, especially in the understory and some plants /trees that turn later than others.
Top left Prunus- a plum variety growing well in the last few years-- after its pollinating mate died 🙄 Centre Ontario native Aralia racemosa ripened some berries, though the plants have mostly frozen down, now.
