I had fun playing it on PC, but the game is just that much more fun and immersive on the Deck. I’d say it’s the first game where I’ve noticed a big difference since I got my Deck last week....
I was on the edge buying the thing and told myself that if I use it 50 hours it’s a reasonable purchase. Now I’m sporting closer to 200h within one year I could not be happier....
These are lists of some tools and software that are useful for Steam Deck and can enhance your experience with it, as well as all the websites and other such Steam Deck resources I know....
I saw demos of Steam Input over the tubes and figured out I might be able to put together a mapping that makes Renoise the music tracker somewhat usable. I’ve had great success. Will be releasing the mapping on Steam as soon as I’ve seen it through some more iterations.
I had some performance problems. Suddenly, steam deck lost about 60% of its performance in games. My troubleshooting didn’t help. After that, I contacted steam support. We were talking for about a week, but nothing helped, so they agreed to send me a replacement....
I was out of country for the past month. I have access to two monitors, and I brought a keyboard, wireless mouse, and a small JBL speaker. It has been a pretty good experience. I have edited documents, images, and created PDF’s. I can connect to jobs that require windows with a web browser to Azure Virtual Desktop. I have...
I had an old MSI gaming laptop from 2016 which was amazing for me (I always had slow, 2nd hand laptops before) and now I’ve sold it and my PS Vita in order to buy a Steam Deck. I want to play Elden Ring, the Souls series, Sekiro and some indie games like Vampire Survivor. I also want to emulate games (Gameboy gen up to PS2...

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. With the repairability of the steam deck and the power available to it, it seems like a no brainer to use it for a bit of school work or casual browsing, Discord etc. Like you would a normal desktop....
In the leaked info, we know that Valve has an upcoming device that will use the same APU as the current Steam Deck. We don’t know if this will be a new VR headset or a Steam Deck hardware refresh. Even though using the same APU means there won’t be a performance increase, there could be various other improvements in an...
A few days ago I noticed a new problem with my right trigger: it wouldn’t press all the way down with the normal force I apply, I had to press extra hard for it to actually go over the treshold and become a click. This became an issue in a few games, like Days Gone....
Probably helpful for Steam Deck OLED users or for people with external HDR displays....
I’m using medium settings with a few (clouds, fog) low ones. FSR is off for now, I did test it briefly on Ultra Quality and did not really notice any blurrong )though it was a brief test) The FPS I’m getting is mostly above 30 but varies a lot inbetween 25-40 (40 is my refresh rate cap)....
Still seems to be available now (not going to order a second one to confirm 😂)...
Do you play more than before you got your deck?...
I’m looking for some nice local co-op games for 2-4 players. Please tell me your favourite ones that work well with controllers on a docked Steam Deck!...
The absolute worst possible time for system and game updates is when I am booting up the device or starting a game....
I’m not talking high, I’m not talking vibing, I mean absolutely covered in cookie crumbs baked....
Hello y’all, I’m at my wits end. I got the GoG version of BG3 (cause DRM free yay!), but for the love of me I cannot get it to work. I’ve done so much googling and so many workarounds, I’ve installed .net, I’ve skipped the launcher, I’ve used the alternate .exe, I’ve tried proton experimental and 8 and hotfix, but...
The steam deck feels very heavy holding it in everyway. It feels the heaviest in its hand grips. Does that feeling go away? It feels like I’m trying to hold a laptop.
Got one!
And a SSD I guess....
How would you rate the OLED deck? Did you keep your LCD deck? Have you noticed any of the smaller improvements like a more responsive touch screen? Has the battery life improvement been noticable?
P.s. Reddit mods deleted this because it “wasn’t related to the Steam Deck.”. This is my first post on Lemmy. Please be nice and at least let this languish in obscurity rather than remove it outright and cut off any hope of discussion. :(...
