I remember these when they came out and were getting passed around on flash sites. It was maybe a couple years later that they remade the animation- my brother and a couple of our friends were so excited we all gathered around a computer to watch it together and we were all floored!

I guess it depends how old we were when these things came out. I missed out on the sharing videos from flash sites and really got on the internet and using it regularly when youtube was already a thing.
There’s a few gadgets in star wars… that the prop of which is in most science fiction (or similar) films because the creature and prop guys always sneak them in… and at the time the group was pretty much the only guys doing that kind of work.
