Hi! I’m looking for an SSH client for Android, but open source. Termius is great, but it’s closed source and has its subscription-based pricing model, so it’s out. I use ConnectBot rn but it’s buggy and looks awful. Would you recommend any?
I want to know if there are any good FOSS email apps on android ? I use gmail and outlook generally for mails for work/office purpose !
Hi, there is a project called SongRec which is a Shazam client for Linux, but is there an open source Shazam client app for Android?...
Hi, recently I thought about lemmy and came into the conclusion, that it lacks one thing to be a true competition for reddit and stackoverflow and that is the search engine and user visibility....
Like the title says. My dad was trying to get into designing since hiring people for it was getting expensive. we use linux(debian 12) and he has very basic computer knowledge and can’t afford the industry grade software(too expensive in our country)...
Suppose I want my project to have as many contributors as possible. Generally do you think more people are inclined to contribute (upstream) if the code is permissive or copyleft or do you think it doesn’t really matter?
I’ve been using Invidious and NewPipe to watch YouTube for a long time. I don’t use an account with either of these. However, I’m wanting to get recommendations based on what I watch and my subscriptions. LibreTube looked promising but it no longer works. When I try to watch videos it won’t play. YouTube Vanced is dead....
Me and my friend just want something to brainstorm and write our ideas down on. Cryptpad is a decent I’ve considered, it has rich text editing which I don’t need though it’s nice.
Do you have an idea? Whether AlternativeTo nor OpenSourceAlternativeTo got an answer....
Howdy, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I figured this community has the best chance of using libreoffice. I recently started to learn about gpg and decided to try to digitally sign an odf file I created via libreoffice writter. Thought I could do the same with a pdf file but turns out you need a third party ca...
[For those who don’t know: an Interactive Fiction, or IF for short, is a console game where the user has to write down a command like “take hammer”, “open door with the key”, “go north” etc, and the game will reply with what’s happening, for example “you took the hammer and put it in your backpack”]...
As the title says. Is there is FOSS app for Android?
I had this idea for an open source app like Spotify or YouTube, where everyone can join and add content to it. Consumers pay either by donation, subscription or ads to keep the server and development running (non profit) and increase the content creator pool of money....
I’ve gotten pretty far using FOSS tools when it comes to making games, but I would like something like Substance Painter so I can fully dabble into 3D....

Besides Thunderbird, is there any good desktop mail client for Windows that doesn’t involve uploading mail to a cloud first?
This lovely community helped me find a few great FOSS options to deduplicate my out of control photo library, so thanks to all!...
Recently, I was looking into licensing an open-source project I’m creating. My preferred license is the BSD-3, but was given advice that I should seek a license that offers patent protection as well. I saw there is a BSD 2-Clause + Patent option, but not one for the BSD 3-Clause, not that I found through OSI or SPDX. This...
I’ve been trying to move away from Google Translate, it’s so good though. Any adequate open source alternatives? Bonus points if it has a phrasebook and if I can import mine from Google.
I need to transport multiple very large files over an unstable and untrusted network, and the file contents are outputted as a data stream. I wanted to use OpenSSL for streaming authenticated encryption, but they purposefully don’t support that and are preachy about it....
