KpntAutismus,

the one in my apartment building rattles like no one’s business but it’s regularly TÜV checked, so i trust it.

You’re safe until the Liveleak logo appears

Hello

balderdash9,

Mythbusters actually debunked the myth that you can jump at the right time and survive a falling elevator. Short clip for anyone interested: youtu.be/xmloyCC7MOY?si=DbmDkS4w1hyQ3OcZ

bleistift2,

Where’s the Mythbusters clip debunking the myth that a (first-world) elevator is even capable of falling?

aggelalex, (edited )

Yup. The best strategy is to lie down and spread out, with your hands under your head. The bigger the contact area between your body and the floor, the better. But good luck doing that while falling.

Etterra,

Me: oh this could be an interesting way to die.

I find it way more unnerving when the floor near (or sometimes not near) elevators stars shaking. Why does that happen? The elevator is obviously not connected to the floor‽

I think you need to stop using elevators wherever you are. I have never had this happen when using an elevator.

Rentlar,

It had better not be voice activated… www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbDnxzrbxn4
