Finger limes are an unusual fruit that has caviar-like flesh and pops in your mouth. They come in all kinds of interior colors, and sound amazing. I've been trying to find some in California, but they're native to Australia and I haven't seen any even in specialty stores. Does anyone know where I might find them here?
My spouse was gifted some sourdough starter. While I love bread, maybe too much, I also try to hit about 120g of protein a day and I just don't know if daily focaccia is going to help me in this endeavor...
I’m in the middle of reading Gary Taube’s new book, “The Case for Keto”. I’ve been on and off a paleo/keto/low-carb diet since 2010. The last few years I let it slip, but still maintain a focus on eating real foods. Less processed items at home....
Hey folks, I'm in the market for a good carbon steel skillet. I recognize there's all kinds of options, but curious to hear people's experiences with some bang-for-your-buck picks especially....
Tell me the details like what makes yours perfect, why, and your cultural influence if any. I mean, rice is totally different with Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Persian food just to name a few. It is not just the spices or sauces I'm mostly interested in. These matter too. I am really interested in the grain variety...
In recognition of Juneteenth I cooked up a few things for dinner: Charleston Red Rice, (Instant Pot) Collard Greens, and Black Eyed Pea salad. Everything was so delicious!...
For me, it would probably have to be my Bialetti moka pot and Dualit toaster. I make a pot of coffee and toast almost every morning. I also hope to replace my old pans with a cast iron one soon, and I look forward to using that a lot.
hello internet pals! i am posting in the hopes that folks have some good lazy (but perhaps still somewhat healthy?) air fryer or microwave meal / snack recipes to share because i’ve fallen into a bit of a cooking rut lately and easy new recipes would definitely help inspire me.
Posting this here because I figure it's relevant to cooking and the decisions we make about our food and our health. I was kind of hoping for a gas stove in my new apartment (I'd only ever had gas stoves) despite being a huge environmentalist because I'd always been told you can't get "those good sears" on electric - now that I...
Oats, rice, beans, pancake mix, those gross canned peas…to anyone who has been to a food bank, this is a non-exhaustive list of things that tend to be staples in their pantry....
Hey! I recently made carne asada for my partner – they haven’t had good mexican food like that before, and I spent a number of years in texas and grew up with a mother from texas so tex mex food is very near and dear to my heart, and everything came out great, except the home-made tortillas. They felt more like griddle cakes...
Made the Slow-Cooker Memphis-Style Wet Ribs recipe from Cook’s Country today. Used Sweet Baby Ray’s for the sauce instead of making my own. Turned out amazing though!...
I eat popcorn fairly often and I was wondering if I can improve on the taste with minimal effort. Do you guys know any good mix I could use instead of salt alone?
I make a fruit platter for work each week, decided I might as well start posting them here. Any thoughts for what fruit I should go with next week? I kinda just tossed this together, haha!
I had the idea for a puttanesca inspired sauce with cauluflower. Ended up tossing the cauliflower with oil, spices, diced kalamata olices, diced red onions, capers, and olive juice. Cauliflower was roasted at around 350 for about 45 mins give or take? Made a decent olive tomato sauce with all the trimmings which was nothing to...
