I just posted a link to this on the sub for shits and giggles expecting it to either not work or get banned within minutes. Nope, it’s there and people are pissed. Guess he’s not even nodding his newly stolen sub

Well, I don’t know how illegal it would be to fake an ID in this specific case, so I recommend you absolutely don’t go to PRADO, and certainly do not download a specimen document from there and photoshop it a little. That would be bad, so don’t do it.
Back when Amazon Smile was a thing, I had Amazon notifications turned on (a prerequisite for earning charity donations), and had Tasker set up to automatically dismiss them so they wouldn’t bother me.
It only existed so they would get to stop paying google for click-throughs. They ended it because enough people use the apps or go straight to the website now. Was never about charity.
I don’t understand why there is so much defense for this in the comments. Amazon is a huge company with professional design teams, if part of their checkout process is even a little misleading in favor of an upsell it is definitely intentional.
Yes. That’s Amazon using dark patterns. This demonstrates that enshittification is not confined to social media.
Ooop, it may have happened even before Twitter, Reddit etc.
From Corey Doctorow: Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if Amazon’s enshittification is because [Jeff] Bezos was a cynic or because he sold out. Once Amazon could make more money by screwing its customers, that screw-job became a fait accompli.
I’m not sure I follow. The day before, it was over $40. It was dropped for prime day (I assume that’s the end of the graph - 39.59) and then 20% taken off as a discount. The $31 sale price is lower than both used and new. What am I missing here.
Agreed. It doesn’t look like anything fishy after deciphering the graph. The normal price is usually 39.59 and it was indeed 39.59 before the sale and it’s now 20% off for 31.67.
A lot of these proce comparison sites are struggling with the sale, came camel camel has the same issues. It’s because the sale isnt universal, only for prime subscribers.
Is it 20% off it’s lowest price? No it isn’t. But it’s still lower than its lowest price.
Prices in Amazon fluctuate wildly. I have seen them be as much as 20% up or down in a matter of weeks.
Keepa is great for Amazon. I think the price jacking before promo is not allowed by Amazon you may be able to report it. But it will likely not do anything.
It’s a browser plug-in that displays a graph of the price history for a given product right on the Amazon page. Great to know if it’s the right time to buy or if you should wait for the price to change. Amazon prices change daily, sometimes hourly.
You should have redirected your community somewhere else to begin with. It’s not your site. They make their own rules up. You played chicken with the Hoover dam.
