tehmics,

Haven’t watched ‘TV’ in over 15 years

andrewta,

When people ask questions like this they need to clarify if Netflix is included in their definition of tv.

In my opinion watching TV is watching TV regardless of the source.

But people need to clarify the question.

can,

It’s called linear television now.

azvasKvklenko,

No TV and no Netflix here. Does YouTube count?

andrewta,

If you are using it to watch 30 second to 6 minute videos then no.

If you are using it to watch full length movies or full TV episodes, then yes in my definition it does.

tehmics,

Who watches movie and TV shows on YouTube?

I watch primarily YouTube and it’s all hobby/educational content. And it’s not 6 minute videos. It sounds like you’re stuck in 2005 YouTube era.

cubedsteaks,

I actually have YouTube TV which is their live tv package.

tehmics,

Which is a different service called YouTube TV, so yeah, probably reasonable to call it ‘watching TV’ in that case, considering it’s in the name.

cubedsteaks,

oh yeah I wasn’t arguing that. Even YouTube makes the distinction but it is still technically YouTube.

TurnItOff_OnAgain,

TurnItOff_OnAgain,

Not 100% true. A while back I bought a ton of dvds from a going out a business sale for like 10c each. I ripped them onto my server and stuck the dvd in storage.

I’m talking over 150 movies for cheap

I pay for cable, even pay extra for HBOs and 24/7 porn channel, tho this latter costs me $0.0028 per month so why not (it’s bad).

cubedsteaks,

what cable package do you have?

well, I’m in Hungary and have Digi TV subscription (it’s a Romanian carrier that’s in service in my country as well)

around 4 years ago when I contracted with them it was super cheap. since then it’s almost 3 times more expensive. it’s a usual thing here that long-time subscribers pay more and more just for fun I guess?

In Sweden we have to pay for TV through taxes. And then they use the money to make propaganda programs paid by the tax payers. Works well for keeping the population docile.
