Hearts Alive by Mastodon

BmeBenji,

Great band. Got into them as preparation for the Mega Monsters tour and fell in love with Crack the Skye.

I’m a huge Mastodon fan, but for the life of me I could never get into Leviathan. I don’t know why. I’m fairly sure another 10 years from now it will suddenly “click” in my head and I will be obsessed with this album like everyone else

Get Low, I hadn’t thought of it in forever and then my husband played it for me and now it’s just stuck with me, I keep playing it

xmunk,

Shake it like a salt shaker!

BmeBenji,

The Way of All Flesh by Gojira. Have you ever wanted to experience what it feels like to let go and die? Because I didn’t know it could feel so good.

Kovukono,

Currently it’s Electric Callboy, namely We’ve Got the Moves and Hypa Hypa.

Destiny Potato - Addict

Great song
Great buildup
Epic guitar solo

EDIT: Seems my suggestion is somewhat popular, so in case it wasn’t already known, the entire album, Lun, is amazing.

Glue Man by Fugazi

Fugazi reunion tour! … would be so good.

My fav albums rn are:

  • Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - Beatles
  • American Idiot - Green Day
  • Rare Americans 2 - Rare Americans
  • Blue Album - Weezeer
Froyn,

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was also a great movie.

Yellow submarine is pretty amazing imo

Globulart,

Not sure if you’re being serious or not, and everyone’s taste is their own. But yellow submarine is a simple nursery rhyme written by the beatles and possibly the worst single they released (in my opinion). It’s also not on Sgt pepper is it…?

Edit, just remembered there was a yellow submarine film too and I’m guessing you meant that.

Oha,

Yeah. Im like the only person who actually likes the film

Looseygoosey,

The Dripping Tap by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

I recently learned that the first song that Bowie wrote after learning piano was “Oh You Pretty Things.” I don’t know why but I’ve been listening to it a ton since. And I’m currently counting Hunky Dory as my favorite Bowie album.

Edgarallenpwn,

Hunky Dory is such an incredible album. There isn’t a bad song on it. I’ve been flip flopping on that and Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust as my favorite Bowie albums for years

13esq,

Be careful with over listening to a great song!

There are a few tracks that I absolutely can’t enjoy anymore only due to the sheer amount of times that I’ve already listened to them. They’re still amazing songs, but any joy I can derive from them has been ruined.

You can absolutely have too much of a good thing.

xmunk,

Canned Heat by Jamiroquai… I have no idea why I recently rediscovered this but it fucking kicks.

I’ve also been on a nostalgia kick recently so I’ll throw in Dirty Water by the Standells as a bonus.

SwingingTheLamp,

For me it’s the Smoke & Oakum album by The Longest Johns, but more specifically, The Worker’s Song, both for the sound and the subject matter.

Bladesurge,

Fear is the Weakness by In Flames.
